Need Maximum Motorsports Parts?

Morning guys/gals. I'm now signed up as a sponsor here and wanted to let you know that we are a dealer for Maximum Motorsports.

If you guys are familiar with MM products (I know you are ) - you know that they are top notch - probably one of, if not THE best engineering suspension company for Mustangs 79-04.

Let me know if you need any quotes - I can get it all and parts are discounted on our site. I know a lot of guys wait around for their deal of the day - but we offer discounts on almost everything, every day - why wait?

Jeff

Re: Need Maximum Motorsports Parts?

While we don't stock the spacers separately, as you could imagine - I'll make a call and see if I can dig up a set. I'm sure MM will be able to send some at a reasonable price.

PM me your address, if you don't mind and I'll get you a total.

Re: Need Maximum Motorsports Parts?

Will you be doing any drag racing? Do you want adjustable height or fixed?

As for uppers - if yours are in good condition, it's suggested that you keep the stock ones. Adding stuff/erethane bushed uppers can actually cause suspension bind and has the potential to damage torque boxes.

Per MM:
"These Ford rear upper control arms are direct replacements for the 1979-2004 Mustang (non-IRS) control arms. They will restore performance lost to old and deteriorating rubber bushings. These control arms have the stiffest rubber bushings available, and are much stiffer than what came originally on the Fox chassis Mustangs. Although Ford Racing Performance Parts claims their bushings to be "twice as stiff" as stock, our testing has shown that while they are much stiffer than Fox chassis bushings, they are identical to the 1994-04 bushings.

We performed extensive testing of rear upper control arm bushing materials during the development of our Panhard Bar. When retaining the original four-link suspension, the best compromise between resistance to suspension bind, best control of axle position, best ride quality, and least potential damage to the chassis, is to retain rubber bushings in the rear upper control arms. This is especially important when adding a Panhard Bar. The compliance of a rubber-bushed upper control arm is required when a Panhard bar is added to the Mustang four-link suspension.

When installed on a 1979-93 Mustang, these control arms, with their stiffer rubber bushings, help limit axle wind-up and side-to-side motion, but will not damage your Mustang's upper control arm mounting points (torque boxes) as a standard urethane-bushed upper control arm would. See our extended technical information about bushing material choices in our Rear Lower Control Arm tech section.

While for 1994-04 cars these control arms offer no improvement in performance, as they do on Fox chassis cars, they are a great value when replacing arms with damaged or aged bushings. Because rubber deteriorates simply from age, after several years the control arms are ready for replacement. High horsepower cars and those used for track events tend to damage bushings before they can degrade from age. These replacement control arms, along with the axle end bushings, are a great way to bring back or upgrade the performance of your Mustang."

Re: Need Maximum Motorsports Parts?

Hey Jeff, didn't I buy a Steeda shifter from you for my black 02 GT? This was several years ago...6, 7 years probably. At the time, if it was you, you were building a Fox coupe. I'd met you at a gas station here in Dunedin, then followed you back to your house to check out some other parts you had for sale.
I'm in need of front (and possibly) rear SS brake lines for my 04 Mach. I have new Hawk pads and new Brembo blanks already.

I'm also considering new struts/shocks...or coilovers. I currently have Eibach Pro springs with OEM Tokico shocks/struts. Any advice would be appreciated. It's a daily driver that I enjoy 'spirited' driving. I also already have MM CC Plates.

I'm also getting 4.10s or 4.30s later this month, along with some new, much needed, rubber (NT-555 or NT05..?)

Thanks in advance for your help!
Chris

Re: Need Maximum Motorsports Parts?

It's possible - but I live in St. Petersburg. Our shop is now in Tampa.

Either way, I'd love to help you out with whatever parts you need.

Fronts are $84.95 shipped - they are made by stoptech for Maximum.

You already have the CC plates, so you're ready for coil overs
My favorite DD combo would be bilstein struts, coilover kit and bumpsteer kit. In the future, you could go with a k-member and control arms.

Re: Need Maximum Motorsports Parts?

Yeah, we traveled down to St Pete that day, (actually, as I now recall, we stopped at Walker Ford as you were picking up some parts). I also see you were the owner of the gorgeous Whippled Mach 1 with the Forgelines - I never saw it in person, but did see it in a mag. Perfectly put together...sad that it ended the way it did.
I'll be in touch soon for at least the brakelines - thanks Jeff!

What springs do you have in there? Trying to determine if you should be looking at the HD or Sport dampers.

Sounds pretty serious! I guess you know that those control arms, combined with the K-member are going to put your wheels 1.5" forward, right?

Let me know when you're ready. We will not be beat

If the car is going to see a lot of track time, you would probably consider the forward offset for a total of 1.5" forward. I don't like that on street cars because the tires can rub when turning, especially when using 275 up front.

On my fox, I went with the reverse offset, since I was using the MM K-member as well. This put the wheels in the OE location. I'm not running huge tires up front, so I'm considering going to the 3/4" forward setup.

It's tacky, IMO to have your front tires rubbing on a street car. Avoid it if you can!
