insurance thru Barret-Jackson?
Has anyone tried to get insurance through Barrett Jackson? I got it for my SVT Cobra and they will insure it because they classify it as an exotic--only $200/yr. Not sure if any of you have tried with your mach's.(I just renewed the Mach with the big box ins co and if I stop it now they take a big chunk of it and give me back a little). I saw a thread on a SVT site and several have gotten it and are happy so far. Just curious.

Re: insurance
Sounds like a decent savings, any idea how they are in paying claims?

Re: insurance
I've had Heacock for about a year and a half. They are an insurance broker for classic/limited edition vehicles. They will hook you up a company that will insure your Mach. My Mach is now insured with American Modern Insurance. I pay $265 a year for full coverage on my Mach. Great company. Give them a call. Before I switched over, I was paying $1200 a year for the Mach through a regular insurance company. Only thing is that you must keep your mileage under 3000 a year, you must keep your Mach in your garage ( they want pictures ), and you must have another car registered and insured in your name ( a daily driver ). Full coverage comes with free roadside assistance, which I had to use once this past summer. I dont have any info on how well their claims service works, since thankfully, I haven't had to use it.

Re: insurance
Jus got insurance through American Modern Insurance for 285 a year! .....**** thats SWEET! I opt for the 6,000 mile a year plan. Barrett jackson would only do up 3,000 miles a year. Looks like i might get those twin turbos a lil sooner now!!

Re: insurance
I recently switched over to Grundy and cut my payment in half. I only put 800-1000/year on the Mach over the last few years, so it made sense to get classic car insurance vs regular insurance. The only major draw back is I can't drive it as a DD, but I didn't do that anyways.

I'll have to check into that. I'm paying $756 a year for full coverage and I only drive her about 2200 miles a year.

Re: insurance thru Barret-Jackson?
I got mine through Hagerty at a little over 200 dollars per year. I am not sure of the mileage stipulations but only putting 500 miles on the car in 2 years I am under..........

Re: insurance thru Barret-Jackson?
I have Barrett-Jackson insurance also on the Mach. I'm 29 yrs old with a good driving record and pay $124 a year insured for $18,500 with zero deductable. They allow 2500 miles a year, and car must be garaged when not driven. I called the better business bureau and checked for bad claims and they rated them A+. I also figured any company that Barrett-Jackson would put their name on, would definately be a respectable company. Since they are a multi-billion dollar company. Its worth checking into.

Re: insurance thru Barret-Jackson?
You've got to really read the fine print on these collector car policies, mileage is only part of the issue. I was about to sign up my '92 LX with American Hobbyist and they were very particular about what the car was used for. If the car was driven to work on a pretty day and had a wreck, they would deny the claim. If you are on the way home from a car show and stop for milk and bread and the car is stolen, they could in theory deny the claim.

Re: insurance thru Barret-Jackson?
I got my insurance through Barret Jackson for my 2003 Cobra. I pay only 250 a year in the state of NY for full coverage. I got the zero dollar deductable and got her insured for 30,000. Before Barret, I had State Farm and was paying around 150 a month just for the Cobra.....Barret saved me a ton of money.

Re: insurance
I had them Parish Heacock is the name. They give you mileage restrictions. I went with Grundy now. They understand the car hobby market and let you take it on long cruises , unlimited car shows or to work once a week. But you must have a daily driver and garage. Just don't go putting 20k miles a year on it. lol

Re: insurance thru Barret-Jackson?
I just called Barrett-Jackson and they said they don't insure newer cars anymore - they have to be older than 1993. 1-877-545-2522
Grundy seems like a good deal - http://www.grundy.com/ I emailed them but have not gotten a response yet (2 days)

Grundy doesn't like to contact people. I'm going to walk into their office probably on Friday or tomorrow and see what's up with them

Re: insurance thru Barret-Jackson?
That is odd. Grundy was prompt to return any emails or voicemails I left for them when I quoted & setup my insurance for the Mach with them.

Re: insurance thru Barret-Jackson?
For all the Canadian Mach 1 owners. Grundy Worldwide will only insure if the car resides in the USA. As per Todd phone call this am. FYI
