Are We SVT Products or Not!?!?!

Here is my question are our cars SVT products or not. When I bought my car 5 years ago I and many looked at the MACH's as non-SVT products. In all car shows I attended was classified as a non-SVT product. Yesterday I was at a car show and was classified as a 84-04 Cobra/SVO/SVT catagory. I have never saw my self on the same level as the Cobras. I say the car was in the wrong catagory. I would really like to see some shows start having 03-04 MACH catagories many have the older ones set in there own catagory. I look at the numbers of cars attending shows and see a need. I dont even care and would say it is fair to classify us with 2001 or later Bullitts also seeing as the cars were both limited edition run cars. I know the certificates we can get for our cars now say SVT like the Cobras. So what does everyone think? I know SVT had some hand in our cars but not to the place of the Cobras. But in no case anywhere on the cars does it say SVT. I dont know what to think.

Re: Are We SVT Products or Not!?!?!

Most Mustangs shows in this area have a 03/04 Mach 1 class. At first that class was well attended. Now it is rare to see any as most Mach's are dumped in the modified class because most of us have modified our cars. Most shows allow up to three mods and you will still remain in the stock class. I now enter the car in Hot Rod shows because the modified class where anything goes you compete against the Gull winged doors, body kits, blowers, etc.

Ive actually had my car get confused as a cobra at car shows in the past as well. Obviously people who aren't big car nuts, or just not real ford savvy.

What car show was this?

Don't bother. It's a no-win scenario.

As to the original question. We are in no way an SVT product. The car was developed by Scott Hoag, Art Hyde and the Team Mustang special projects department. They also gave us the Bullitt from which many of our parts are taken. Our engine is not the still born SVT '02 Cobra engine, either, as many thought.
There were issues when the cars were new with dealers even thinking that the Mach 1 was an SVT product, and would not even take an order or discuss the sale of a Mach 1 due to the fact that they were not an SVT licensed dealer. (Yeah, this actually happened to me)
Mach 1= R coded, 4 valve DOHC, shaker equipped good time in a beautiful package.

Ther certificates actually say "Ford Performance Group", which is Ford's official department to connect with enthusiast clubs like ours. The concept is similar to the SVT certificates.

Re: Are We SVT Products or Not!?!?!

Tony is right, and they also do certificates for some SVT products as well as the Buillitts, which are another non-SVT product. They also do them for the Marauders as I recall.
