Take the belt off and make sure all the pulleys are free spooling .

Re: Grooves in Belt

Since it is on the back side of the belt, check your tensioner for freedom of movement. Cant think if there are any other pulleys that contact the back side of the belt.

Re: Grooves in Belt

well last year i replaced the tension pulley, the pulley above that and the grooved pulley to the left of the tension. I noticed the groove there last year but gave up on it because i don't see it hitting and anything. now in the past week the squeaks have come back. well everyday i have sprayed a little silicone grease on a pulley a day to find the one... well yesterday i just sprayed the belt and it stopped. I had the other belt in my garage with the grove and put it in. It went a few days and the squeaks are back. Surely the pulleys have not got bad in only a year right? and under a load does the tensioner move at all? because thats when it makes the noise now. at 1st it was just a idle and driving. in my eyes at high rpms means its slipping right?

I went to all the parts stores around my house looking for a gatorback and could not find one. I going to look around my work tomorrow...

Re: Grooves in Belt

well i went and got a Gatorback yesterday and i just check and there are not any marks at all. I have been to work twice with it on there so... I don't know. Also the noise is gone to so far. I guess its nothing but gatorbacks for now on lol.

thanks for the help :-)
