Wheel Vintiques are giving me a headache

I have the money for these FINE wheels, The WV Magnum 500s. I've been sitting on it for a while now and supposedly I was going to buy these for Christmas. I found the backspacing here from some who have 17X8 front and 17X11 rear. I want 17X8 front and 17X9.5 rear.

I see on the CDC site, their Mach has backspacing of 5.25 for the front 17X8, the rear of their car is 18X9.5, backspace 6.25.

Ok, my choice is similar yet different from those I have found in my search.

I'm looking to buy them thru Summit, saves a few bucks.

Does anyone have a clue as to what backspacing would be best given what sizes I am looking for?(17X8, 17X9.5)

My Mach wants these really bad!!! He's refusing to go anywhere this Spring if he doesn't have them.

Re: Wheel Vintiques are giving me a headache

Simply said: The backspace should be identical. The key to answer is offset. Given the CDC rim and backspace figures, I would venture to guess the offsets are ~20mm, backspace 5.25" front; ~25mm, backspace 6.25" rear. If the rims your desire have the same offsets (my gut feeling tell me: yes), then the backspace should be identical. FYI, OEM offset is 29.5mm; some round it to 30mm. OEM backspace is ~ 5.68" (17x8 rim). With that said, the optimum offsets for the aftermarket rims you desire would be ~30mm, backspace ~5.68" front; ~25mm, backspace ~6.23" rear. Also, as a rule of thumb, I generally stay within 5mm of OEM offset. 10mm max. Then again, I am just a bit anal about aftermarket wheel fitment. Good luck.

Re: Wheel Vintiques are giving me a headache

If this helps.

Our 17x9 and 18x9 inch wheels carry a 5.95 inch backspace with a +24mm to +26mm offset depending on the wheel style.

Our 18x10s carry a 6.38 inch backspace with a +22mm offset.

Our 17x10.5's carry a 6.38 inch backspace with a +27mm offset.

Finally our 17x10 sc wheel which is a 5-lug version intended for use on sn95 based cars has a 6.25 inch backspace with a +20mm offset.

Hope that helps some

Re: Wheel Vintiques are giving me a headache

I will check when I get home to see what backspace my wheels are I can not rembemer what they are I got them just about 4 years ago. Why not go with 17x11 in the rear?

Re: Wheel Vintiques are giving me a headache

I had the Wheel Vintiques at one time and ran the 17x11's on the rear. You can get them in different backspacings.
