F.T. 04 Cobra IRS for solid axle

Just like the title says. I have a complete IRS out of my 04 cobra that I am wanting to trade for your Solid Axle. My IRS has just hit 40K miles with only about 10K being on the 4:10's with a complete bearing rebuild. Rear does not leak or make any noises or clunks.

I will consider all solid axle trades but what would be the best is if you live here in Florida and have some upgrades in the rear. Let me know what you have.

THANKS JASON

Why ARE guys trading the IRS's for solids?? Are the IRS's that expensive to fix or are they garbage? What did it cost to do the bearings and did you do the work yourself?

Yeah, I meant what all is done to your rear end. Sorry, having fat fingers or something.

I am trying to get rid of my IRS because it just does not launch as well as a built solid. I need something that I can hit hard and take the abuse considering the Cobra makes 625+hp and weighs 3890 with me in it. The IRS is great for the street drag racing if you have less power or don't want to launch that hard. I just want to be able to side step the clutch instead of feathering it out of the whole.

Thats the reason I am also selling/trading it. Well one other reason is weight too. I want to shed some LBS without hacking my car up. If the rear doesnt get traded within a few more weeks of so, then I am just going to buy myself a nicely built solid and keep the IRS for when I sell the car.

I agree with you about the weight too. Right now, mine weighs 3890 with a full tank and me. I would love to shed an extra 100+. Good Luck with the search!

Re: F.T. 04 Cobra IRS for solid axle

I am about 3 hrs away in West Plam Beach and looking to trade my Mach 1 rear axle set up for a complete IRS. The Mach 1 axle is perfect with 43K miles on it. It is a Florida car so it still looks new.

I am looking for a 100% swap. Cat Back, Springs, Control Arms, etc....
