X-Pipe leak?
On the drivers side of the car I have an exhaust leak that will not tighten down. What should I do?

Re: X-Pipe leak?
Tighten both sides at the same time, bring up passenger a little bit then driver, and so forth. Worked for me.

Re: X-Pipe leak?
What x pipe is it? Does it have the metal sleeve inside the pipe?

Re: X-Pipe leak?
I have the same problem-- mine is an SLP X and the leak is coming from where it bolts up to the header. I had an exhaust shop even add some exhaust cement and that only worked for a little while.

Re: X-Pipe leak?
Mine is the slp also, My friend put some of that on the left side and it did stop the leak. He said to make sure you let it set for at least 12 hours. But know the other side is leaking after we bolted everything back down so we are going to remove everything and start over using that ultra copper. SLP is pretty good with stuff I am really shocked this does not fit properly. I have a loud mouth ll cat back also.

http://www.ninosport.com/Ford-Mid-pi...8-XR3Z-9450-AA Here is the gasket that sits between the mid and the exhaust manifold passenger side. Or you can get it at your local ford dealership.

Re: X-Pipe leak?
If you still are looking for a solution I have been doing a lot of searching to see if there were any fixes for my exhaust leak. Mine was leaking from the same spot as yours. It did it with both Pypes and now my UPR x pipe. I found that there is a small insert/coupler that slides into the top of the x pipe and this is supposed to close the gap and fix it. It was included with both of my x pipes but I had no idea what it was for until tonight.
You can see it here: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/593952/3

Re: X-Pipe leak?
I don't believe I have ever seen that piece for sale. I'll look tomorrow and see if I have another one. I had the two, one from my Pypes x and the other from my UPR. Hopefully the trashman hasn't picked up the box by the road yet lol. If the box is still there then I will ship that one to you.
Edit: ...and also the one from Pypes is the exact same size as the one from UPR so it should fit yours too.

Re: X-Pipe leak?
The studs on the manifolds have shoulders that cause the flanges on the pipe to bottom out before its tight enough to seal. Solutions:
-Replace the studs NAPA #600-1819 -Grind the flange for clearance -Sleeve gasket Ross |
