Steering Wheel Shimmy
Posted on TSB section first .. was recommended to post here for possible answers on "Constant" Shimmy at @ 50-55 MPH
My Initial thought is Struts ... as fresh meat and balance did not cure.. Shimmy felt and seen on steering wheel .. and only at @ 50 MPH.. I can drive right through and never notice it .. back off to @ 50 MPh and hold speed .. left and right shimmy minor but noticable. Side note: Noticed before I swapped tires from original (at 30k ) (Now at 34K).. presummed once I put on fresh tires and balance that would get it. I did a rotate and balance at 34K .. still noticable. I'm going look for a shop that can do premium balance ..may try the local Ford House in the near future to see what they may or may not know with this platform. Search on this site brings up others who have experienced shimmy but I cannot determine common fix .. Tried TSB section .. no luck .. No TSBs on subject. -darryl

Check your tie rods and bushings for play. Also look at the tires for cuts or wear patterns.
