Cool. I got a switch for my coin slot and wired it for my OD. The nice thing is the switch I got defaults the OD off everytime I start the car. No need to remember at the drag strip and I usually drive around town with it off anyway.

I think I've seen yours before. There's where I got the idea of adding a boot. Thanx! Well, I really don't use the O/D button.

Re: My New Auto Shifter

Wow! You got a lot of questions. I'll try to answer them as best as I can.
You can put the O/D button underneath the shift boot. I personally decided to remove it completely. You can get the shift boot on ebay. It is the stock one for the 5speed Mustang. You will only need to remove the shift bezel to install everything.

Re: My New Auto Shifter

how hard is it to install the OD relocation button? do i have to splice wires or take my center console out? i got mine from UPR's website..they are running a special....both the shifter and the OD relocation button for 59.99+ shipping. it came out to 70 bucks...i thought it was a great deal because they sell the shifter alone for 55 bucks and the button they sell for 25 bucks..so if anybody wants this set get it now while its cheap

Re: My New Auto Shifter

It is really easy to install the O/D button. Make sure when you take it off the old one that the wires don't touch. You do not need to remove the center console. The only thing you remove is the shift bezel.

Wow, thats looks awsome. I love my Mach1 T-handle but like the looks of that way better.

Here is mine. The boot matches the ebrake boot. May get both in carbon fiber look later.

http://mach1registry.org/forums/show...5&postcount=11

If anyone is thinking of doing this I have a spare OD button relocation swicth I can sell you for $20 shipped.
I have some odd ball parts laying around that someone might need.

Re: My New Auto Shifter

D*** you guys posting this. Now I gotta do this. I was going to say that without the shift pattern Virginia won't pass it on inspection. But since you added the other ball w/pattern your good. Va is crazy on inspections.

VA requires a shift pattern on an automatic shifter? That's crazy.

They require a shift pattern to be seen either on the shift knob, or shift console, or the instrument cluster. We don't have one in the cluster, and I covered the console up w/ a boot, so...the knob has to show it.

Re: My New Auto Shifter

Well, my Mach is not registered in VA so even if I didn't have the shift pattern I would be good.
