Bought her on May 13, 2003. I have 4,300 miles on the clock. But, the clock is about to slow down big time. I picked up a 94 Explorer in prefect shape with 116,000 for $1,000 earlier in the week. This will be my commuter to work. And the Mach will be for my two days off per week. The Mach will only see less than 4,000 miles per year from here forward.

Ok I need to be educated here. Why are you guys not driving your Mach's? You paid good money for this baby. Mustangs are NOT investments they will depreciate a lot and quite rapidly. Someone just posted that he would only get around $22k for trade.
Drive the car, enjoy the car..... Don't deprive yourself of the pure enjoyment

It is a car for the pure enjoyment of driving it. It is not a Cobra R, or anything as rare or as BARELY street legal. I got mine as a daily driver, to and from BOTH jobs, as well as the weekend cruise-ins, and just showing off. Yeah, it is rare. I like that as I zip down the highway and get those "Whattheheckwuzzat??" looks from the ricers as they gaze longingly into my tail lights. The car is great to look at, with even a better view from the driver seat.

2,076 miles since picking it up on August 18th. I do drive it often, I guess just not far distances. I won't be driving it as much during these winter months since our area is obsessed with spreading salt on the roads. And people around here are terrible drivers in any bad weather. I also try not to drive it in any rain either. I just want it to be in nice "survivor" shape 20 or 30 years down the road. I don't know how many of you know the feeling of owning a survivor musclecar, but it is GREAT. I'm looking forward to it.

6,200 since Dec.13 and racking up more every day. I can't think of a better daily driver! What else can you drive to work, have a big grin and cook rice at the same time?

My Mach is my daily driver. Got it September 7 and have 1950 on the clock thus far. I'll be driving it in the winter/snow as well (with snow tires) here in Northwest Jersey. May sound like blasphemy to some of you, but I bought it to drive, not be a garage queen. Just my 2¢ Gary |

Mileage
No value to Mach 1s? Not for a long time anyway. Some of the younger guys in this group may not be aware that the original Mustangs flooded the market and were produced in the 10s of thousands - the hottest selling cars of their time - and the Machs being produced in 69 and 70 only cost what, about $3,200? Then they depreciated down to what amounts to pocket change by today's standards. There's a 69 Mach for sale on the internet with 12,000 original miles and is in pristine condition. It doesn't require restoration - or anything. It is selling for about 14 or 15 times its original cost ($47,000). But, yes, we all want to enjoy these cars. IMO, people who are buying the cars as collector's items or for fair weather transportation will have a real gem - especially if Ford stops making them after the 2004 model year There's a saying. 'Its not the money, its the money'. Same applies to cars.
Its our individual choice to drive the hell out of our cars, keep them original and like new for as long as possible, or if we are fortunate and lucky enough - just drive them on weekends and pass a collectible down to one of our kids. Relativity, folks! Sorry for the long dissertation.
