So whose actually gonna fork the money on NOV 18th when this bad boy is realeased......They are saying like $600 for the better model and I even of some stores making pre-orders w/ 1 extra wireless controller and 2 games for $1000......Just seems a lil steep in my book, but does tend to weigh out a little due some the awesome technology thats built into these bad boys....

$600, or even $500, is plenty of Mach mods I could buy. Mach mods > video games

they release the 17th, friday

upon release, they will be the cheapest blu-ray player on the market

I'll get one once the hype dies down a little and the production comes up. Price should be a little less then as well.

I will not be buying a PS3....at least not until it has a nice catalogue of games and the price drops. I learned my lesson with the 360. I bought one a couple of months after it was released along with Oblivion, Pefect Dark, and that Msoft racing game. Oblivion was fun, but it offered nothing new in the form of game play. The graphics were cool, but cool graphics wear off very quickly. The first 360 I bought was broke from the beginning. There were lines and weird shapes all over the screen. Thankfully, Walmart allowed me to exchange it. But, the second one locked up often. I mean like every time I played it. The red light would come on and the only way I could play again was by unplugging the power and plugging back in.

I turned in all my Xbox and Xbox 360 stuff at EB for store credit. I haven't regretted my decision for a second. The only decent game that's come out for the 360 since I returned it is Gears of War.

I plan on using my store credit for the Nintendo Wii. I will be able to buy the system, 3 more controllers, and any games I want. The Wii looks like tons of fun. Finally, some innovation in game play.

No one knows if blu-ray will take off. It will have HD-DVD to compete with. How many movies can you buy on blu-ray?? Look at the movies for the PSP. They have all but halted production on those little UMB movies because no one wants to pay almost DVD prices to watch movies on a 4"x3" size screen.

Sorry FO im gonna have to disagree with you on this one. I think the price will stay the same but maybe go on sale for like 50 cheaper but go right back up after the sale. I think it will stay the same for prolly 2-3 years before it comes down.

That's a great idea. We are gonna try to get one on launch day. People are paying insane amounts of money on Ebay.

All those rules are for selling a pre-sell receipt for a PS3.

That's exactly it. Too many people say "I'm not paying $600 for a Playstation!" Yet they'll spend $1500-$2000 for a computer? The PS3 is Blu-ray capable and Wi-Fi capable, making it much more than just a Playstation.

I intend to buy one, just not until next year.

I already have a XBOX 360 so the PS3 does not appeal to me that much. I think Microsoft will eventually come away with teh win on the whole console wars thing anyway. XBOX FTW

If that's the case, I'll wait longer then. I don't play my PS2 that much - seems like when I have free time, sitting down at another computer is the last thing I want to do. I'm not in a rush.

I have PS2 and really don't play it that much. I do have some PC games I'll play once in a while.

I was looking at, on Ebay, some old vintage games, like Coleco Vison, that I had years ago. Anyone remember those. I thought if I could get one dirt cheap that still worked, I would like to have one for old times sake. But at this time I'm not ready to shell out another $600 to $1000 for something I may not even play much

blu-ray is gonna start catching up here soon....they are rereleasing almost all the single layer blu ray discs into dual layer = more information = better picture....the blu ray player and its technology is FAR superior than hd dvd....sony just hasnt got it all worked out completely yet....there are about as many blu ray discs as hd dvd and there are better companies backing blu ray vs. hd dvd.....it'll be a tight race for awhile....

Not much else I can do to mine other than slap on a power adder so yeah, I'm definitely getting a PS3 and I don't care how many kids I have to push out of my way to get it
