Need opinions on best street tire
I cant decide between the Nitto DR 315/35 or Goodyear GS-D3 315/35. Which would you guys recommend as far as traction, conerning, and life? Im in Arizona so rain isnt much of an issue. Car is a DD and sees the track occasionally. Thanks for your help.

Re: Need opinions on best street tire
I have not used the Nitto DR. But, I use the Nito 555 as a track tire. And I think they are pretty good. As a street tire, the 555 is very poor when it rains. I would assume the DR would be worse.
I have purchased 3 sets of GS-D3s. And I think they are a great performance tire - good traction wet or dry. They are worth the money, IMO. I have Kuhmo Excsta MX tires on my SVO. And I think these pretty good. And they are a lot less expensive than the GS-D3s. But, I don't know how long they will last (the way I drive).

Re: Need opinions on best street tire
Cannot speak for the Nitto's, but I have the GS-D3's with about 19k miles on them, and absolutely love them. I have only been to the strip once in my life and my and quickest 60' with the D3's was a 2.006 which I guess is ok. I would imagine an experienced driver could do much better than I with this tire. When it rains they are still a handful so you need to be careful with them as well.
IMHO, I dont know how you can really compare a DR to a street tire and expect a good comparison from it.

Hmmm.
American tire vs. Japanese tire. I'd say buy American.
