Cheap Rubber
Riken, Falcon or Kumho. If you had to pick, which one and why?
Thanks Dave 03 o/w Mach |

Re: Cheap Rubber
Just ordered a new set of Gators for mine.
I would never downgrade the ride and handing on a neat car like a Mach. My GT had a set of Kuhmo's on it when I bought it, and they were ok. After I installed Gators on that car, MAJOR improvement. My 2 cents.

Re: Cheap Rubber
I owned a set of Kumho's on my 5.0 I use to have. They were all right. Nothing great. Can't expect anything great from an economy tire, but they worked.

Re: Cheap Rubber
Love my Coopers Zeon 2XS's. They give a much more refined personality to the car in ride, sound (!), handling and wet weather traction compared to the skaterbacks I wish I'd put 'em on when the car was new. There is a private label Cooper on the market called Mastercraft. The tread is slightly different but you can generally get a really good deal on them. Check 'em out!

Re: Cheap Rubber
Curious to see the outcome of this one. I want to get BFG G-Force Sports but it takes 6 weeks to get em out here. A couple places have tried to seel me the Raptors but I was not sure about them..

Re: Cheap Rubber
I put 245/45R17 Fuzion ZRi on mine. They are a cheaper version of Bridgestone/Firestone. They have been good tires so far at about 15-20K miles. They are W (168 mph) rated.
http://www.thefuzionzone.com/zri.asp Wet handling is excellent. This tire is as good as tires that are much more expensive. They are about $110 each according to Tire Rack.

Re: Cheap Rubber
I prefer my Sumitomo HTR Z II's or the BFG KDW II's... for cheap tires...

The Sumitomo HTRZ are 160 which are soft, and I did not get those. The Sumitomo HTRZ II are 220 and are the ones I have... I really use these tires to beat on, and I get about 20k miles off them.
