I feel for ya man...back when I was a kid, I slid my '66 Mustang into a guardrail in the snow because it was the only vehicle I had to go to work with...Hope your parents are understanding....

Sucks you had to drive it in the sh*t. I tried snow driving in my first Mustang and that was the one and only time. Snow=Park Mustang Immediately! Sorry about your loss!

Re: Wrecked the mach today

I feel for you. I have had to drive in the snow a few times this year. I would recomend a cheap beater for the snow days. Don't get rid of the stang, but make it better with the insurance money. If I wrecked mine I would but on a cobra front bumper. Sorry to hear about it though.

Man, sorry to hear about your Mach. Hope you are ok. Hopefully you can get her fixed up and your parents let you keep her. Dang snow! As a parent of an 18y/o and a 16y/o I think that I could find some understanding, maybe yours will too. Good luck.

Re: Wrecked the mach today

I feel for ya. I spun mine in late November. Luckily I was able to steer clear of the tree and stop sign and get it stopped. The rest of the 10 miles was uneventful until I was passed by an amish buggie.

Sorry for your loss man. Good luck with the parents. If they were cool enough to let you get a Mach 1, then maybe you can make it out of this with a fixed Mach 1 with a cobra bumber. :-)

Sorry to hear about your Mach1. I'm sure your parents will understand the circumstances. Have a good body shop do the repair. All will be well.

Re: Wrecked the mach today

Hopefully your parents take time to reflect on this situation, it was snowing, you were just going to work, the car got away from you, there was no way in h-double-e-hockey-sticks you were racing.

I hope it will all work out, my best wishes are with you.

Re: Wrecked the mach today

I live in Phoenix where it hasn't rained here for 106 days now. I fail to understand why anyone would own such a car anyplace where it would snow.

I used to live in rual NJ up in the hills. A few times each year we would get snowed in for a few days. When I say "snowed in" I mean nothing was able to get up to us including the snow plows. Everyone I knew owned trucks (long before it was an "in thing") and cars with front wheel drive. We also used to put sand in the back of trunks to weigh the cars down.

Mustangs in general are sloppy enough in rain, no less snow.

I'm very sorry to hear about your accident. I hate it when our Machs get banged up.

We own cars like this because we love cars like this. When I was a kid, I drove a '66 Mustang year round in Eastern PA in all weather. My wife used to drive her Firebird in the snow. Add some good tires and some weight to the rear, and they will do surprisingly well if you know how to drive in snow.

Some of us up here in the snow belt don't drive our Mach's in the snow (much less rain) because we have a daily driver that is for days that aren't so nice.

Re: Wrecked the mach today

I don’t mine garaging mine in the winter; less miles and wear on it better change of being a collector’s item. Plus, I love taking the Mach out for the first time on a warm spring day. It’s like getting laid for the first time

Re: Wrecked the mach today

I dont think my parents are going to let me keep it. Im going out tomorrow to get a beater truck i think. I will probably keep it untill i get out of college, and just save my money instead of paying the three hundred dollars per month that i paid for the mach. My mom made me a promise that if a graduate college she will buy me a 2010 (The year i graduate) Corvette Z06, assuming that they will still be making them in 2010.

Re: Wrecked the mach today

Sorry to hear about your current predicament. I hate that something like that had to happen. Maybe some good will come out of this though. Now you know that driving a high-powered rear-wheel drive in the snow can be costly, and won't make that same mistake twice.

I know how you feel I took out a previous car on a patch of ice. It hardly ever freezes in San Antonio, one day it was about 25 degrees but it was dry so I figured it was ok to venture out. I went into a parking garage and the fire protection system was leaking, at the bottom of the ramp it had froze up, I went to turn, but the car went straight into the concrete wall. I was bummed.
