HELP!! Is anyone out there familiar with Motorcraft Oils??
I have just done the 1st oil change in the Mach, and purchased 5W20 Motorcraft synthetic Blend as per the owners manual. However the manual calls for WSS-M2C153-H, but on the bottle is says WSS-M2C930-A, and the API service on the bottle is SM, SL.
Now I'm all nervous because I want to know if the oil I put in there is o.k. for the Mach.. Any Oil experts out there?? |

I wouldnt worry about it Dan, Your using the right viscosity oil required. Sometimes parts numbers change through the years for what ever reasons. It doesnt necessarly mean that the product has changed.

From what it shows on motorcrafts site this number means, "It meets the stringent WSS-M2C153-H Ford Motor Company specification"
Its not a part number, but a spec number.

Nah, your okay...if you notice on the new oil that the numbers are higher in sequence as against the old spec. This is a normal process that evolves in oil manufacturing. Your covered, you would actually have to have a bottle from '03 or '04 to get those numbers. It is an ever changing world.
