first decent kill

Well living in small town ga not many chances to race credible automobiles. I get my butt handed to me from the neighborhood Z-06 and kill the occasional ricer, but for the most part its pretty quiet. Today I was on my lunch hour and while driving saw an WRX STI. I was going for a closer look (too much traffic for a speed test). I pass him at a reasonable speed and he in return flies past me. Not willing to let it end there I follow until we get some open road. To make it short, we take off at around 50 and I pull on him the entire way to 120! We do it three times lowering our start speed each time with the same result. I was under the impression these cars were to be taken seriously. I know they will take us out of the hole but I dont see how we couldnt easily catch them. Anyway feel free to flame my street race, just thought I would share.

Re: first decent kill

I have had similar results...I have also heard the hype but not seen a serious indicator to justify the hype....

Seriously, it must be the DSG genetic material making the difference

Re: first decent kill

I just raced a friends WRX last night, wasn't an STi. Anyway, I took him by about 5 cars. Got it on tape too, did 5 runs from a dig ( he launched at 5k) pulled ahead just a little on dig cuz of the awd but then when second hit I passed him like nothing. We also did a 20mph role and destroyed it. Its a nice car though.

Re: first decent kill

Then on the way home, a old school vette was coming up fast from the rear. It had been raining and I really didnt want any part of another race. He pulled up beside me, rolled down his window and gave the thumbs up along with "nice car". It seems not all chevy drivers are oblivious to ford performance. Pretty good day driving the Mach.

Re: first decent kill

STI's are great cars, 300hp out of that little motor and some great skills in the twisties... We do have the edge in the straights... If I have problems with my Mach thats the car I would go after... (If I could take all the rice-a-roni off it)

Re: first decent kill

Ya, I agree but theres a guy that goes to my school that has an STi and he raced my buddy chad who has an 2001 Z28, but with what hes done to it its pretty much a Z06 in an F-body lol. He handed it to the STi from a 40 mph. roll and got him by about 8 cars. I'm not even gunna try

Re: first decent kill

Too much hype for me. I can't stand the hoopla stuff. ESPECIALLY over ricers.

Good kill though.
