So i go inside chill for a little gather up the drunks and go back outside and guess what, yup, some hillbilly was towing cars and guess which car was towed first, mine. sorry .... anyway i call before my car is even there and they tell me to bring 200.00 dollars and an i.d. to pick it up, **** 200.00 just cause i didnt want my friends driving drunk. now i dont know how hard of a job this stealing cars is, thats what i call it, but .... swung his handle into the rear fender and made an ugly scratch, down to the metal, in my car. i could kill him. try and do good and end up gettin it in the ***

seems like it just doesnt pay to be nice sometimes. Sorry to hear about all that BS.
For future reference everyone should look it up in their area but here in FL if your vehicle is about to be towed they MUST, by law, leave the vehicle alone for a flat $50 fee (Pretty sure its $50, not 100% though).

If your vehicle was damaged, they are liable for the cost of repairs. They are supposed to take reasonable care of your vehicle while it is in their possesion. Don't take no for an answer. Make them pay!

Revenge is a dish best served cold. - The earliest well-known example of this proverb in print is "La vengeance est un plat qui se mange froid" from the play Les Liaisons Dangereuses (1782) by Pierre Ambroise Francois Choderios de LaClos. Not that I don't believe in Klingons..... who may be the ones running that wrecker service. |

The whole scenario sucks, "No good deed goes unpunished". One of Murphy's laws.

Man, that really sucks bad. You should go after the towing company. I highly doubt they towed the Mach correctly, and I doubt they even knew the right way (found in this thread.)
I sure hope it all works out. |

Maybe the X-wife is behind the tow away so quick deal?
Surprised you were not drowning in a beer as well.

Well, that just sucks. I once was the designated driver and had a buddy puke all over the hood and I got a speeding ticket. I was just trying to get him home as fast as I could so he wouldn't hurl in my car, but the cop didn't see that as a valid excuse!!

If you didn't hang around with drunks, and didn't park on private, posted property ..... Did the Klingons have a proverb for that? No, but your mother probably did!
 P.S.: "Rich, Corinthian Leather." Spoken by Ricardo Montalban (Khan). |

Harsh? Hey, how do you think I feel? I'm the guy that went to the trouble getting through to someone at Ford's coroprate HQ to get those offical towing instructions that I posted on this site. (As mentioned by DJ Hobbs, above.) The least falconetti could have done is print and tape them to the windows and bumpers of his Mach when parking illegally.
By the way, the problem is not which club to avoid, it's not reading the signs on private property. If falconetti had an account at Bank of America, and an ATM receipt with the appropriate date and time stamp... Heck if he just had an account and said the ATM didn't read his card......... |

I guess from your wife's point of view it's what comes around, goes around. It might be some sort of payback, if ya know what I mean? Good luck......

I'm sorry but I can't find too much empathy for somebody that gets his car towed after being parked illegally. I do empathize with falconetti regarding the trained monkey that towed his car, but he made the mistake of parking on private property. It was his fault, so suck it up. Had he parked legally, or didn't play chauffer for drunk friends (his words), there would have been no thread.
If youy've ever owned or managed commercial property, unauthorized parking is always a concern. During business hours, it reduces available parking for tenants and customers. After hours, it's a liability. I don't want my Mach towed, so I read the signs posted at the curb or on private property. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS READ. |

- You made two mistakes:
1) NEVER, EVER pick up drunk friends in a Mach or any other car that you cherish 2) The mach does not belong parked in a parking lot Sorry that happened just file a small claims action you should be able to recover the out of pocket expenses  |
