2004 Mach1 Fox body VS Newer body
Hello everybody....just looking for a little feed back on the 2003-04 Fox body style which I have & am ok with / old school & the newer body style mustangs / 2005 - 2015....I like the basic live axel Tremec trans set-up with less computer controlled accesories on the older models...I like the retro looks of the newer body style , but not the interior.....2004 Cobras are cool & are basically kicked up mach 1 with independent suspension.....the only other mustang I would want would be a 2010 Shelby GT-350 from Shelby factory in Arizona....

Re: 2004 Mach1 Fox body VS Newer body
The only bodystyles I've liked are the '87-'93 and '99-'04's. I've never cared for the '05-'16's at all, with the exception of the Boss 302. The decal package dresses it up to acceptable looking to me.
I'm curious how the 6 speed feels on a Boss 302. I remember test driving an '05GT and hating the new hydraulic clutch they switched to that year. They replaced them to hydraulic clutch on other car models also. I had an '05 Focus that was a 5 speed and NEVER got use to that clutch feel. The pedal strength was made for a 90lb. anorexic. I would stall it all the time. I like the heavier clutch and cable feel.

Re: 2004 Mach1 Fox body VS Newer body
i really like the new edge (99-04) body style, its aged really well IMHO. The 95-98 arent bad. I never could stomach the 05-09. 10-14 was a bit better but the 15+ has really started to grow on me, especially the front end on the GT350 that doesnt have to meet Euro pedestrian crash standards

Re: 2004 Mach1 Fox body VS Newer body
I agree.....I had an 1986 GT / 5- speed & it was a good car but like my 2003 Mach1 better.....the clutch is a little heavier but not too bad....probably going to just switch to a short throw Steeda shifter & call it good.....

Re: 2004 Mach1 Fox body VS Newer body
I had a few 67-68 fastbacks and still consider them the best looking Mustang ever built. I do however think the 03-04 Mach looks fantastic and drives much better then the 60's cars. I will keep mine any day over what looks like a flattened out Fusion front end 15-17.

I can't stand the looks of the current car. They look too "European" in my opinion. I usually start getting used to a new body style after a year or so, but that Mustang is still as ugly to me today as it was when introduced.

I like the looks of my Mach 1 but I love the seating position /driving style of the s197 far better being taller. I've driven an 07 GTCS a good bit and a 13 GT. I will have a Boss 302 in the future. I keep looking at this car but I can't justify the payment at this time. I'm a bigger fan of the 13-14 but the 11-12 look awesome in certain colors. Bad part is this Boss has more miles on it than my Mach 1 lol http://m.timbrookford.net/Tri-State-...-Car/48917791/

Re: 2004 Mach1 Fox body VS Newer body
I LOVE our 04 Mach 1 (Son's) wonderful looks & driving it is very special....his old cast off car that he gave me has really turned from undesirable to one I will never sell. I mean I used to ignore the 94-98's completely but since I got this I am constantly surprised at all the accolades it generates. I can't go anywhere without a conversation or thumbs up being generated. LOL kinda fun....so now I take a very considered approach to any & all cars & try to SEE the good points or the owner's view of his "pet" car! I'm a lot kinder & more considerate now.
My red headed step child of a SN95....

Re: 2004 Mach1 Fox body VS Newer body
Thank you Shadow Grey! The best one was a guy coming out of the bank as I drove up...he said he hated Mustangs and was a strict chevy/camaro guy but he LIKED my car! First one he said that he liked....
