Quality of dss parts?

Hey guys, I have an opportunity to buy some brand new dss parts( technically used but still brand new in the box) and a cobra crank for a really good price. They are dss forged h beam rods and pistons. Iv seen some bad reviews about dss, but wondering about the quality of the forged parts they sell. I'll be taking the block I'll be using(teksid) and the rotating assembly to the local machine shop for prep work, but assembling myself. I'll be doing an eaton swap/ nitrous and upgrading to twinscrew/ nitrous eventually. Any and all input is appriciated.

03machstock, I wonder if those rods are made for dss or if they're just Manley and they sell them as their own? I was trying to research dss and mmr and others to have a forged shortblock built but it's hard to gauge. You'll end up reading a lot horror stories but you have to figure that some guys that are buying stuff like that might beat the hell out of it so I guess you'd expect some breakage? Sorry, absolutely no help to your question, good luck, Jim

Re: Quality of dss parts?

As stated above, your going to see it go up and down on reviews and as I said it ran strong for me. Lm_coogs also ran the same one, might pm him on his thoughts.
