Future revisions of the Mach 1

So, I have been searching the internet about the mustang and came across an article that has rumors of a 2018 body redesign along with a potential of a new Mach 1 for 2019-2020. So I decided to google 2018 mach 1 and had a ton of review sites pretty much all stating the same rumor.

Has anyone heard anything more concrete on this beside it being just that, a rumor?

Re: Future revisions of the Mach 1

Everytime they redo the body style there are rumors of a new Mach1 coming out. Im not saying that this rumor isnt true but ill believe it when FORD actually confirms it!

Re: Future revisions of the Mach 1

Ive seen hints from people that are typically right about this sort of stuff that indicate a new mach1 is coming in the next few model years

I hope the ecoboost 4cylinder stuff is wrong

probably not due to the ever increasing CAFE standards/regulations

i'm ordering a new Tesla Model 3 because electricity cost less than gas and generating residential electrical power doesn't cause pollution.

Re: Future revisions of the Mach 1

The Mach 1 rumors have been going on for more than 5 years. It's an annual thing. If they're actually going to build one, you'd have some kind of solid info. from the magazines by December for the next production year.

I like what Ford is doing with the ecoboost on some of the vehicles. My wife and I just took delivery on a 2015 Ford Edge that is loaded with pretty much every option imaginable. At any rate, we test drove one of the 2.7L Ecoboost models as well and it was real nice, however the 3.5L (the one we got) had a little more power to it getting on the interstate and when driving that big of a vehicle, that seemed very important to us.

At any rate, I believe the Ecoboost totally has its place in the market for vehicles like the focus, edge, escape, but when I was at the dealer I also saw a Beautiful stang there that had a ecoboost badge on it and while I am sure it performs well, just hearing ecoboost turned me off on it.

Re: Future revisions of the Mach 1

i dont have any issue with the ecoboost and it looks like they hurt a lot of feelings. I just dont have any interest in a Mach1 with that combo.

I think we are saying the same thing here....Ecoboost has its place in the ford lineup, even on say the entry level type of mustang. But when it's performance brand, such as the Mach 1, Boss, Shelby (whatever) it is offputting.

Re: Future revisions of the Mach 1

I could see it in an SVO do-over or something

and I agree on the sound, but its saved me a lot of money on my truck because I refuse to mess with the intake or exhaust b/c I dont wanna hear it

Re: Future revisions of the Mach 1

Yes, the ecoboost can be made to make some nice power; but they sound awful. Certainly no V8 sound, lol

Re: Future revisions of the Mach 1

Hello, I like what they did at the end of the New Edge run, really stretched it out. The mach and Bullitt were both really cool "parts bin" cars. Why couldn't they build a Voodoo based "core" Stang? Kind of like Mopar does with the Scat Pack Challengers? Put their best n/a performance motor in a base Mustang, let you option it how you want color and interior wise so people could buy and mod the hell out of it? Could call it a Mach with certain options like a shaker or whatever but would be pretty cool. Jim

Re: Future revisions of the Mach 1

flames are expected on my comment
i'm not a big fan of the new body style, it has too many import styling features for my tastes, especially the nose treatment
the drive train is great except for the IRS
hopefully they won't taint the Mach1 bloodline with import styling

No flames from me! I thought the new front looked kind of New Edge? Well, the headlights anyway? Jim

Re: Future revisions of the Mach 1

To be clear, I don't think I will ever own a Mustang with a V6 in it. But I will no longer sneer at anyone with a Mustang with an EcoBoost in it.

Here's why; I have had my new F-150 with the 3.5 Liter EcoBoost engine for a month now, and that thing is a beast! Even stock. 365 HP and 420 LB/FT stock, and a simple handheld and Premium fuel gets you an extra 65 HP and 80 LB/FT. The potential in a boosted engine is insane as anyone who has ever had an 03-04 Cobra will tell you.

But please, do not put one in a new version of a Mach. If anything, go with a slightly detuned version of the VooDoo.

Yeah, I think if it was coming out by 2018, we'd be seeing a few mule shots in the mags by now. I hope they do, but honestly, it will probably be out of my price range anyway.
