Your ULTIMATE Mustang

If you could have your choice of any Mustang ever built which one would it be?
I'm not talking about the one that is the most value so you can flip it, which one gets your blood going the most when you see/hear/drive it.

For me?

2000 Cobra R followed closely by the new GT350R.

Re: Your ULTIMATE Mustang

1967 GT500 Fastback Resto mod built for road course, but with a full interior. 6 speed, high revving 427 (or maybe the voodoo 5.2?), target hp 500rwhp n/a

Slap on some race pads and tires for the track, street tires and pads for shows and sunday cruising

I basically have the same goals for the mach, but it might take a while to get there. I want to keep the stock motor in the mach though. Eventually will go for a target 400rwhp n/a while keeping stock displacement, but I need to sort out the suspension before I start tearing into the engine. More power will be the last upgrade

Guess I'm the oddball. I have the one I want in the garage. I've owned a classic before. They look good when done right. But I prefer the late model stuff.

not a Mustang, but I'd give away certain body parts for an original Shelby Daytona Coupe

Doesn't exist. As soon as I found the one I wanted I'd see something else "better".

Re: Your ULTIMATE Mustang

One does not exist for my 'Ultimate Mustang'.

Body would be 69 Fastback with mods; drivetrain GT350 voodoo twin turbo with a proper sequential shifter; AWD with cage fabricated into the pillars, not seen in the open easily; AC with AC/Heater seats. Wide tires on all for corners; proper suspension, not based on 69, but custom. Paint would be color changing based on electric signal, flip a switch, change the color.

It is something that can be properly built but I do not have the cash. But you did say Ultimate.

Yes, that is one car that if I had a choice of any in the world would be right up there as number 1 or 2 of all time. I do plan to some day build one from a Factory Five Kit.

When that came out I got really excited because it was 'close' to what I wanted to do; but they ruined it by making it a drift type of style. It is purpose built and I fully respect the car, just not the look I want.

Re: Your ULTIMATE Mustang

My ultimate Mustang would be a 2017 GT350 in grabber blue. I would do a GT350R, but I'm not sure if they'll make them in grabber blue..?

My runner-up would be a 2000 Cobra R. Depending on the day, the other runner-up is a Boss 302 LS in the black/red combo.

I love the classic stangs like Boss 429's etc, but I would feel like I shouldn't drive it and I want to drive it lol.

Re: Your ULTIMATE Mustang

So hard to choose. I am a car freak and I love so many different cars for so many different reasons. Close to the top for me would have to be a 69 Mach 1 with the 428 Super Cobra Jet, Drag Pak, and a 4 speed. I have always thought the 69 fastbacks were the most beautiful mustangs ever. I'd have to put a 67 Shelby GT500 right up there as #1a, give me the 427 with that one, thank you.
After that, well take your pick, 96 Mystic Cobra, Sonic Blue Terminator, bone stock-low mile-black 85 GT, 93 Cobra, 95 Cobra r, 95 S351 Saleen (supercharged), 93 Saleen SSC, get my 68 Convertible back that I had in high school...........I could go on forever, and would be happy with them all.

Re: Your ULTIMATE Mustang

It would def be a 2000 Cobra R. Everything about that car I love.
I swore to myself one day I will have one......I don't think thats gonna happen lol.
But, the only way I would drive it is if I took of fthat rear spoiler....it just doesnt work for me.

Your wish will be granted as Grabber Blue returns next year, including on GT350s!
I've driven an 'R' and it's as close to a streetable race car as I've ever been in.
