What's It Worth

Hello folks; I have a 2004 Mach1 with 2,075 origional miles on it. I think I am no longer interested in this project and would like to sell it. Vortech Supercharger, FRPP 31 Spline Axles FRPP 31 Spline Carrier Loud Mouth Exhaust System Anthricite Wheels (origionals available) Color is DSG W/Interior Upgrade. Body and Interior in perfect shape. Zero body damage Have Mach1000 Audio system just not installed, Kenny Brown Extreme Matrix, FRPP 4.10:1 R/P also not installed. Rear end girdle. Engine needs a decent program and an intercooler would work. Car is immediately driveable. What should I ask for it? Thank you

Re: What's It Worth

KBB.com says $16,948 in "excellent condition" for my area. I always try to buy a car for under KBB value. Upgrades don't count. Some times they actually bring the value down when someone is looking for a stock car.

But GT owners somehow always think they can ask 2 to 3 times the KBB value LOL. Go figure?

KBB acquires that info from actual sales of similar cars.

Re: What's It Worth

I don't think that a 2004 Mach1 with barely over 2,000 original miles is worth a mere $16,900.00. I should think that a 2,000 mile Mach1 of either 2003 or 2004 is worth weenie bit more. Thanks Scott

Hard to say. There is one on the For Sale thread with 1100 miles asking $18,500, all stock. That's a bit low in my opinion. Like they say, you can't get your money back on the mods and it will actually bring less than all stock. I would still start at $19,500. Good luck.

Go for it big dog if you can get it than do it. I would too, if I could. If you second guess KBB maybe you should send them a email stating your opinion vs actual sales of similar vehicles. Like I said, GT owners ask 2 to 3 times the actual value but that does not mean they get a sale. Keep in mind,,,are you really trying to sell the car vs just trying to turn a large profit A.K.A. "Feeler thread"...KBB is based on actual sales. Not trying to be a wrench in the gear I just want to be real. Perhaps if you want over the actual value you should hold on to it for a later date. But that's just me. I trust KBB, and draw the line at what I will pay for a vehicle by that standard. That's why KBB came into existence so people would have a standard to go by.

I mean I sold my 130k mile 99 GT three years ago for a pretty decent amount of money. Probably what you would consider two times the price of what KBB shows.

The thing about 10 year old Mustangs for sale are that 99% of them are total pieces of crap. If you know you've got a clean car, you can throw it up for a pretty good price. People that have been looking for months for the right car and only come across pieces of crap will be a little more inclined to dish out the money to know they're getting a clean car rather than one that (like 99% of 10 year old Mustangs) is totally ragged out and not taken care of.

I plan to put my car up for a pretty hefty price in a few months when the time comes and it will be well above KBB value I'm certain. But it will be a good looking needle in a shitty haystack.

Re: What's It Worth

I'd have to agree with $19K. Any higher, and to me your getting into the "I bought it for an investment" category. I think that would be one hell of a Mach to buy.

I'd post it for $19k and wouldn't budge on price for a couple months. I'd probably accept a 18k offer.

KBB is completely inaccurate for cases like these. I am not sure how anyone can disagree.

Re: What's It Worth

I agree, KBB is a good starting point but if the buyer has the cash and the car is cleaner than everything else on the market then I am sure they are willing to pay for it. I know I just picked up a really clean 04 GT convertible for my daughter and I was more than happy to pay over KBB for it because of the condition and the history of the car. It was taken care of and the interior looked 95% new. This was on a 95k mile car, so the rest was taken care of as well. You get what you pay for.

Re: What's It Worth

KBB Is not accurate for this type of situation at all........
Realistically Id DE-mod it and list the mach for 19k and take 18k. Sell the extra and make a couple more .
