SNOW: water-meth injection
Has anyone used the Snow Injection system? In AZ the temps are really hot 80% of the year and the computer pulls out the timing at even a hind of predetination.
According the the Saturday motor-head shows the water/methinal injection can lower the intake temperature enough to stop the knock. Any comments, suggestions, experience? |

Re: SNOW: water-meth injection
Is your car NA or forced induction? I have a kit on my KB blown 91 coupe. It keeps the tip in knock away.

Re: SNOW: water-meth injection
I keep reading the fast ford and 5.0 magazines and they keep putting this kit on N/a vehicles and making 20-40HP.

Re: SNOW: water-meth injection
My Mach is NA. It has a good tune, a 4k converter and 410's. If the temps are below 75 or 80 she will run in the 12.8's on a good track at 1500ft and a DA of about 2500ft. When the temps go up and the timing goes down she only runs in the 13.2's. When I had the Diablo I'd data log the runs. You could see the timing go from around 23 down to around 17 (it's been so long I think that's what I remember).
I was just wondering how you guys were doing that run the stuff. |

Re: SNOW: water-meth injection
It can get pricey if you have a heavy right foot. I can see it helping an NA car keep its timing but it won't add HP without proper tuning. A case of Boost Cooler use to cost $49 + $20-25 for shipping. Think of it as a 25-30 shot of N2O but without having to worry about bottle pressure

Re: SNOW: water-meth injection
25hp would be great but I would be happy if it just kept the computer from messing with the timing.

Re: SNOW: water-meth injection
Tell me about it! I monitor engine parameters with the Torque app on my phone, cruising at highway speeds intake temps will be 110-115*. Sitting in traffic or at a stop light, they will peg up to 128-130*. Fall is coming though, next week in Yuma, temps are supposed to do to the low 90s. Can't wait car always drives better when it's cooler outside.

Re: SNOW: water-meth injection
20 horses would be worth it and if its as good as a 30 shot of nos I might consider it myself . My mach is staying all motor and well I'm pretty much done with it. This might be something new for me

Re: SNOW: water-meth injection
Remember just throwing this on will NOT give HP. It will have to be tuned in.
