First time dyno
Guys i took the car to a dyno day just to see what it would do, it was running lean from start to about 3700, then would begin to run rich, the beginning atf ratio was a 14.8, after that it went to a 12.2 which he said would be good for a boosted car, the car is basically stock, just CAI, Catbacks and chip, it ended up putting down 249 hp, and 265 tq, does this seem right, it was on a mustang dynometer. Thoughts and suggestions on how to improve this. The car is an automatic also

Re: First time dyno
I am certain you meant non-boosted.
HP looks about right for an auto. Figure +12% for a mustang dyno due to the way they are set up. That'll give you a comparible number to a dynojet. So your car basically made around 278 with the 12% added. Did you get a dyno sheet? What CAI is on the car?

Re: First time dyno
Yea they gave me a dyno sheet it wa running about 14.7 from 2500-3500 hundred then dropped down into low 12's and high 11's from there until about 5400 where it jumped a little above 12.5.
I have a K&N on it currently, im looking for some cheaper mods, i know the cobra cams would be good for it, but i have also heard that it can be quite the pain to do also, and was thinking of a 1/2 spacer to would add some nice tq to it. Any input with this. |

Re: First time dyno
AFR is a little low.
Save your money on the intake spacer. They add a couple of HP/TQ but nothing you will feel. Not a bad mod. It just won't be noticeable. I'd sell the K&N cai and put the stock one back on. Take the K&N money and put it elsewhere.

Re: First time dyno
Yeah, if it was just a dyno run, then those AFR's can easily be adjusted with a dynotune. Once you lean out the rich area you'll gain more horsepower.
