Is an Eaton worth it? And how much weight does it add?
What I'm wondering if the weight of the kit kinda takes away what it adds in power. I hate the idea of ADDING weight to my car but power is nice.
What times and mph are you eaton guys getting at the track?

Re: Is an Eaton worth it? And how much weight does it add?
80lbs give or take a few. I've personally seen a few eaton cars with 440/450hp go high-mid 11s all day trapping 118-122 using drag setup of course. You won't even notice the weight up front. Unless you go with a smaller pulley (3.4) then of course times should get faster and mph get higher. My personal best so far on my afs wheels with Mickey T's was 11.7 @ 126, full weight. Haven't been back since. Imo, with the extra power you'd make with the eaton, you won't notice the weight diff.

Re: Is an Eaton worth it? And how much weight does it add?
I am!!! Lol dunno when tho, don't wanna chance blowing up the motor.
How does the STOCK trans do under eaton power? I'm either thinking about getting a t56 magnum ($2800) or building the motor ($???)

Re: Is an Eaton worth it? And how much weight does it add?
I'm really nervous about the Eaton on a stock shortblock. I've already blown one motor and do NOT want to do it to this one. But I think putting pistons and rods in these motors might have alot of "hidden fees". 450rwhp would be pushing it too much and 400rwhp would be too slow I think.
Wonder how fast an Eaton @ 400rwhp would be with 4.30 gears and a tire?

Re: Is an Eaton worth it? And how much weight does it add?
So if you are running 12.5 now why not just spray it? Especially, if you are money conscious. Why would you pay 2-3k for less than a second improvement?

Re: Is an Eaton worth it? And how much weight does it add?
^^that. i would just put a 125 shot on for now. Then when your ready, sell the nitrous kit. Hell, i sold my nitrous kit for $50 more than i bought it for hahah.

Re: Is an Eaton worth it? And how much weight does it add?
I've thought about it. But doing a nitrous kit right with a bottle heater, window switch, tps switch, and all it starts to add up.

Re: Is an Eaton worth it? And how much weight does it add?
I ran a zex wet kit 125 shot with a bottle warmer from summit for almost a year until my first Mach got wrecked, ran great killing everything on the street/track with 412rwhp and 475lbs of torque the bottle fills is what kills you because theres no free refills

Re: Is an Eaton worth it? And how much weight does it add?
That's another reason. When I had spray on my 5.0 I remember one good pull in 3rd and 4th and the bottle was done. Was so annoying...

Re: Is an Eaton worth it? And how much weight does it add?
Notrous and t56 for the win. 7.0 at 100 making 42x/500. that was stock manifolds and stock intake and very few bolt ons and a 125 wet shot. I would get about 8 passes on a bottle. Most window switches have a tps activation. You would need a msd tach adapter ($30).

Re: Is an Eaton worth it? And how much weight does it add?
with a safe tune and an eaton swap your bottom end will be fine so will your trans. i have a buddy with a termi swapped engine with a stock 3650 and launches with slicks at the track with 490 ftlbs of tq. only broke one input shaft so at 400 ftlbs youll be fine imo. hell ive got stock bottom end and trans and im doing an eaton swap
