long tubes

Are lt headers worth the cost on a procharged mach? I believe parts and labor will be around the 1,200 range. Built motor and built 4r75. Currently have a P head but will eventually convert to a D. Thanks.

Re: long tubes

The blower will clean the cylinders well all by itself, but the longtubes will keep the heads cooler and allow for more power with less boost.

Re: long tubes

Since you already have a built motor, I wouldn't do it unless you can install it yourself. You want more power, throw a D on it and more boost.

Re: long tubes

The exhaust is real important on a power adder motor. I would do LTs for sure. If stock manifolds are a restriction on a 300 HP motor just imagine how bad of a restriction they will be on a 600 HP motor.

Adding boost to an already "corked" combo is a good way to reduce it's life expectancy. Headers get the spent gasses out of the engine more efficiently and that reduces cylinder temps. Lower temps, longer life.

Same manifolds as the 03/04 Cobra correct?

BTW do it. You will lose some bottom end tq, but the blower will make up for that.

Re: long tubes

Correct. Regardless of how much a 03-04 Cobra with stock manifolds make it will make a lot more with LTs. Thare may be a slight loss of boost but it will always make more power. Power adder mod motors love big exhaust. The only exception is the crossover on a single turbo system. 2 1/2" works better than 3".
