Who has an offroad H pipe
So in my quest to break 12's while not breaking the bank as im also doing a track only car right now I'm going to go for an offroad h pipe. which i will probably do gears and cold air intake with but anyways.
I've got the magnapack catback, i don't seem to see a magnaflow offraod h pipe for our cars. so what mid pipe are you running and how was the install ? I want to do an H but i'm wondering if ill be able to bolt this on in the driveway or will i have to get the think on a lift and have stuff modified |

Re: Who has an offroad H pipe
You may be able to do it in the driveway but a lift will make it much easier. The right side is difficult to get to so be prepared for that. You will need a tune when going catless. With a mail order tune, H-pipe, 4.30s with ET Streets and a good shifter i was going 12.40s no problem.

Re: Who has an offroad H pipe
I used a BBK one I got of craigslist for a pre 99 car. I'm not sure if it was the cobra one or the GT one. Not sure what the differances would be since on 99 up the 2v 4v midpipes interchange.

Re: Who has an offroad H pipe
I'm running an off road "Prochamber" also made by Mac. Love it, no rasp and did it in the driveway..

Re: Who has an offroad H pipe
I loved the off road H pipe ... Didnt have the overdone typical mustang sound... it sounded great when I got on it.. but was quite when I wanted it to be.. I used a lift to install. I had a handheld diblo at the time.. This time around Ill be looking for a real tune. Still need to buy a CAI and H pipe.

Re: Who has an offroad H pipe
No rasp at on on mine with Super 44's or Hooker Max-Flows (chambered vs straight through). Install was fine except for one bolt/nut that's really close to the chassis/body. There should be some write-ups about it on this site. I also made some MIL eliminators like THIS. These MIL's sometimes don't work from what I've read online but they didn't give me any problems at all and worked perfectly.

I have an o/r mac. I love the sound, it's not raspy at all it's a nice deep throaty sound.

Re: Who has an offroad H pipe
Ordered a JBA o/r h-pipe a few weeks ago. I wanted stainless and for $250 from AM I figured it was worth it. Haven't put it on yet as the car is still in storage but the quality looks great just by looking at it.
Tons of vids out there on what it will sound like. From my experience you can't go wrong.
