Re: Installing trans/clutch

i didnt really think it was worth it for my 94 unless like me the tail shaft bushing went bad and it was 140 for the new yoke or 300 for the whole thing

Re: Installing trans/clutch

Lethal is selling the cooling mod again, which is a good investment if your going to boost the car.

Other than that, just replace the pilot bearing and throwout bearing. Have the stock flywheel resurfaced.

First time pulling the transmission on these cars is a bit rough. Now that I've done it half a dozen times, its a couple hour job. Use only a breaker bar, break free, and 6 point sockets. And you should be golden.

Quadrant and firewall adjuster if you haven't already. Other than that, I'm jealous.

Re: Installing trans/clutch

I have a 5.0 shifter if you need one. Not in the for sale section yet
The AL driveshaft is definitely worth it, think less rotating mass.

Re: Installing trans/clutch

Aluminum Driveshaft is very much worth getting.

For comparison sake: when I was almost totally stock, the aluminum driveshaft had a seat of the pants gain comparable to my offroad x pipe. Take that how you want to.

From what I remember, an aluminum driveshaft isn't really worth the money unless your goal is all-out weight reduction. And if that is the case, carbon fiber is the way to go. I mean, I know every bit helps, but maybe that few hundred could be put elsewhere.

Re: Installing trans/clutch

get rid of the stock clutch fork and put something else like lakewood..I heard that fork feels great, but makes the clutch a bit stiffer, ford racing TOB & pilot bearing, new clutch cable, firewall adjuster (it really helps out 3rd gear lockout) and a quadrant to help the pedal feel even better! I have all of the above minus the fork.. my motor went to **** so once i get everything out ill probably replace the fork while I'm at it.
