My Gun Database
I know there are alot of gun owners on here so I figured I would put this out there. I was searching for shoots on Camp Perrys site the other day and one of thier advertisers was MY GUN DATABASE. So I jumped in and looked at some of thier screens shots and decided to download the full version. I have to say it is pretty thorough. You can even catalog your ammo in and accessories in detail. It has input for value, purchase and sale dates, serial numbers, and easiliy uploads you pics.
I personally have two reason to purchase, 1 incase I ever need an insurance claim (most of my weapons are in a safe in a remote location so theft is unlikely but you never know). Second I am getting to that age where I have in past had alot of my friends fathers pass quickly. One of my biggest fears is to suddenly die and leave my family with a huge mess to sort out. This helps to eliminate at least the gun situation, I can put in detail everything I own down to ammo and give my family a price range of what they could expect to get out of it. Now I just need something like this for my tools and car parts.

Re: My Gun Database
Do you have a link? I know what you're saying about passing and leaving the family to sort out what there is and how much it's worth. I recently purchased some guns from a friend who's father in-law passed away and the guys wife didn't even know he had some of them. The Walther was found loaded with one in the chamber. Friend though by pulling the Mag out the gun wasn't loaded. You should of seen my buddy's face when I cleared the one in the chamber. Here he was thinking the gun wasn't loaded and he could of pulled the trigger. The wife was terrified of the guns and just wanted the them out of her house. They all came with original cases, receipts and manuals except the 16 ga. Browning. Paid $500 for everything including hundreds of round of ammo and a steel ammo case.
Since the seller and buyer are both from Ma. I was able to transfer the ownership online. Here's what I picked up. Walther TPH 22LR Like new condition S&W 357 model 686 S.S. with 6" barrel Like new condition 32cal. H&R New England Firearms 3" barrel Needs some work Remington 552 22LR with scope Like new condition 1920's Browning Auto 5 16 ga shotgun in very good condition |

You can even list the location of the gun. I know I have about a half dozen in various locations throughout the house that would be found for years.

Wouldn't it be just as easy to create a word document for each gun owned? Never know if their does or will be set up to "phone home" details of your armory making it easy for garaging and gang to know what and where the weapons are.
