Remember when 99 mustangs first came out?? - 2003-04 Mach 1 Registry Owners Club

Was thinking the other day when I first started seeing the 99 new edge mustangs for the first time.. I thought they had such a cool body design and the front fenders and lights looked mean.. I think there are still so many 99-04s around they are not unique yet but I have a feeling they will be... kinda like the fox bodys are now. Just thought I would share

Yeah, I remember when the '99's first came out because some guy that lived across the hall from me got a '99GT. I thought it looked great after 4 years of those fugly '94-'98's. If the Mach would'nt have come out, then I'd probably still have my '93GT to this day.

Ohh, I remember, I went into dealer for a pickup truck and couldn't take my eyes off one they had on showroom floor.
I ended up buying my wife a 2004 Red 6 cylinder, Ford was offering rebates because the 05 were coming out and I had A.plan. , paid 16k out the door.

My neighbor bought a new 02 Mustang and took me for a ride.

I was hooked.

I tried to wait for the coming of the Mach 1 but the stealers were talking gold prices when they hit the showroom.

I said well a GT it is and bought a new 02 GT. A few years later just before the 05 were due out I stopped in for the latest news and low and behold they had a $3,000 factory discount on two Mach 1's in stock. I drove a black one and the salesman asked how I liked it? I said I would take the yellow one on the showroom floor. True story.

Hell yea.. my little brother has a 99 35th anniv GT... Clean *** car .. Still to this day my favorite body style in a mustang .. i just wish in 99 and 00 they all had hoodscoops and side scoops and what not ..

He bought this car for 3k ..fresh paint

My wife had a '99 GT, she had it all decked out....I think it only had 8K miles on it when we sold it.

No I was only 9, but I do remember when I first got to ride in a 01 gt vert and that is when I decided I wanted a mustang for my first car.

Yes, I sure do! We got a heck of a deal on my wifes 98, bought it just when the 99 Mustang were hittng the lots. Love my wifes car, but the Edge body style is just more manly.

Yep, I worked at a Ford dealer at the time. The first one we got in on the lot was a yellow V6 auto, but it still looked great. Those were good times.

i really love it the first time i saw a 99 mustang, my first one was a brand new 01 mustang and i had great times in that thing, my first one to drive was my buddies 00 GT and i had so much fun driving it and riding around, and really after he put the single chamber flows on it was really nice sounding and then he went and put a procharger P1sc on it and that was a blast to ride in, good times and loved the body style

Yep I was 8 saw the first g.t a month before it was released to the public on the price is right... I thought they were the ugliest mustang ever.. (was in love with my 17 year old brothers 97 cobra at the time) now I love them with a passion lol

What made me think of it was hearing the new 2014s are going to be a whole new car, so I was thinking back at some of the body styles when they first came out.. I still love the foxbodys( had bout ten of them) but when they first came out i was like what?? probly cause I had 68 GT FASTBACK

.. never really cared for any 94 thru 98. I did love the way the 05's looked as well. I guess you have to pick one cause you cant keep getting the next best thing especially cause they keep getting more $$$.

I hated the '94 to '98 body style, so when the '99's hit dealer lots I was in love. I test drove a '99 GT and the car felt much faster than my 5.0's that I had, so I special ordered a '99 GT from a local dealer (this was before I worked at a dealership). Production issues meant that my '99 was never built - ****!

In late '99 I started working at a Ford dealership and ordered a '00 GT for myself. Got it in early 2000. A silver GT "Spring Feature" Coupe with manual trans. Replaced it in 2003 with my azure blue Mach 1. Sure liked both cars a lot.

Im with MonsterMach, I hated he new edges when they first came out. Then again I didnt like the 94-98's either. I thought they looked like a Toyota Celica if I remember right. Eventually they grew on me, and I ended up buying a 95 LX 6 banger, because I still lived at home and my mom was an insurance agent. I kept hearing that they would put me in high risk because of V8. I had that car for about a year, and then found out that State Farm wouldnt put you in high risk, so I went out and bought a 96 GT that a guy bought for his wife and she couldnt drive a stick. Moonlight blue, at the time that was about the prettiest color. It had like 4k miles on it, perfect condition and i got it for a steal.
Some moons later I got over my dislike of the new edge body style after riding in my buddy's 99GT. I ended up picking up a used Sonic Blue 04 from the dealer and really liked it till it got hit.
Fast forward to 2011 and I have my 03 Mach and love it.
For a guy thats had 36 cars since hes been 16, and im 37 now that means alot. LOL I even registered to get personalized plates for this one.
But my wife always tells me that I will never be completely happy.
