Q about posting on Craigslist - 2003-04 Mach 1 Registry Owners Club

I have used CL with pretty good results either selling or buying over the past couple of years. Last night i posted an ad to a somewhat nearby location (Detroit) but it was flagged a short time later. Throughout today i got flagged and re-posted no less than six times. I read through the rules and actually did modify my post to conform but the flagging keeps on. One other time i posted to the Detroit CL and got flagged but have never had a problem posting to any other market ever.
Has anyone else had this happen and what did you do to fix it? Thanks

Never had it happen, but some people flag things if they think they are a scam or doens't look or sound right. Might depend on how you had it worded, etc.....or the price. SOmetimes if you see something that sounds too good to be true, usually a scam. Make sure your price is not an even amount, like $6900, 2900, etc....a lot of scams use even amounts. Good luck.

Remember, flagging is done by people who are reading the ads. I've been flagged on CL with legitimate ads because that section has been abused and the regular browsers are fed up and flag anything that looks remotely suspicious. Make sure you have a good title and personalize your description and you should avoid these type of flaggers.

You may also be getting flagged by competitors. There are some businesses who monitor CL and will flag posts that they think may take away from their customers. There is really nothing you can do about this.

Then there are some people who believe that CL should be local only. Detroit is a big market and draws a lot of interest from other localities so there is a lot of opportunity for abuse. You may also be getting flagged because they think you are posting multiple ads for the same item, which is against CL rules.

Unfortunately that's what you have to deal with in a community-moderated site like CL. Good luck.

I hate CL. Maybe just the detroit section is messed up because I have problems posting in detroit as well. I have posted ad's that just dont ever show up, lol. I confirm my email address, even had to give them my cell phone number. Still wont show.
