697 rwhp on pump gas @ 6500 RPM

Well, I'm excited. I had planned on starting a thread about all the power my car made today, but the tune couldn't be completed because the MAF was pegged out @ 6500 RPM. Just trying to get the A/F down, the timing never went above 8 degrees. Now I have to wait til next week to get the car back (if not longer). Oh well, looks like I'll have over 700 rwhp on pump gas through a C4! Who knows what it's going to do with C16...

Dave has had my car awhile now and it's been a big tease. I'm losing patience and my mind. So far we've hit 23 PSI and the converter is flashing to about 6000-6200 RPM If the car hooks, it could FLY.

Yep, I'm excited and can't stop talking about it. I want to race NOW

My Goal was 700 rwhp on C16 and 9.50's... looks like I may surpass that. The dyno numbers for sure at least.

Congrats. Those are some awesome #'s.

So when do you plan on putting a chute and running 8's for your next goal?

If I get too much above 700, I'll need it this year LOL. It's already about 125 lbs lighter in addition to the power gain.

I trapped as high as 138 last year on pump gas. I may approach that 150 mph parachute speed sooner than I thought.

For the first couple of years I bought the car the numbers were always disapointing, but the past 3 years have been better than expected. I'm just glad everything is coming together finally. I think I have a great shot at becoming the fastest S/C only Mach 1 now. So far I think the best is a 9.78? That time was set with the blower that's on my car now. Yep, bought it from the same guy (9Sec03Cobra)

Re: 697 rwhp on pump gas @ 6500 RPM

Be careful making that much on pump gas, here is what happens to a 4V head doing that and touching over the edge just a wee bit too much:

And the area I have to cut out and weld, its not a cheap repair since its so close to the intake seats. I have done this to quite a few high boosted 4V heads now:

Re: 697 rwhp on pump gas @ 6500 RPM

It won't see high boost on pump off of the dyno. Just using that right now while everything is sorted out and c16 will go in for the real tune. There will still be a pump gas tune to drive around town on but it won't be raced at all like that.

Re: 697 rwhp on pump gas @ 6500 RPM

He told me it made 620 @ 6,000 RPM. That's a 70 hp climb in just 500 RPM. I can't wait to see what it makes @ 7,000 RPM with C16. The blower will be at it's limit at that point.

Re: 697 rwhp on pump gas @ 6500 RPM

23psi on pump good lord thats a lot. I've done the pump gas thing and at 20psi it cost me a motor. Detonation killed my pistions. Now I run only E85 which is between 105-109 octane all the time. It is cheap and works great. My car made right at 700rwhp thru a TH400 on 16lbs of boost from my T76 turbo. I maxed out my injectors though so I can't turn it up anymore till I get some big injectors. I was running 80lb injectors but the E85 uses a lot more fuel.

i just wanted to say this has always been my favorite car on this site......ive followed its progression for a quite a few years(i has a diff sign on name back then in 05 haha).......very impressive car

as far as being one of the fastest...im sure you wont have much of an issue.....they may be more powerful dyno queens out there but your truly performs........

Re: 697 rwhp on pump gas @ 6500 RPM

I must have jinxed myself with the good news. 5 belts later, my tuner/mechanic has completely given up on the car. The car won't hold a belt on it for even a single pull on the dyno.

I have to take it somewhere else if I even want to be able to drive my car again. This place is waving the white flag. I don't even know where to go from here
