making the 3650 strong

so i heard but haven't found yet the kit that i heard a trans place makes our stock trans very strong. i was wondering if someone can let me know what the kit number is and where i can find this. also i don't know the price of all of it. but i would think it would be cheaper to do this than buy a whole new trans like a T56 Magnum, i just wonder if there is anyway to make the 3650 handle about 650rwtq. i'm at 522rwtq right now and just don't want to be at a safe max on this. so please any help would be great. im not trying to go cheap, but if the 3650 can be made stronger and for alot less money then i would like to do that instead of the T56 Magnum

Re: making the 3650 strong

that is the one i was looking for, but i added it to the cart and was looking around and can't seem to find a price anywhere on it. i'm just tryin to get a ideal on what the price would be, i really wouldn't want to send em my trans, but maybe get all the parts and have a shop take my trans out and have it all installed or maybe also see what the price on buyin a trans from them and then just take mine out and replace it with the built 3650. i guess i'll have to call on monday to talk to em and ask, just couldn't find a price anywhere. thanks though for the link.

Re: making the 3650 strong

i sure will, that won't be a problem, i'm just tryin to figure out what the price of a built 3650 vs a t56magnum.

the one plus is on my clutch and flywheel i wouldn't have to buy one if i did a built 3650, but for the t56 i would, so that right there saves some money.

HUH, all the built 3650's ive seen use a 26 spline input shaft just like the t56 magnum/viper spec vs the stock pussy 10 spline ****

yep...joe from liberty said to me once that the components of the 3650 are just weak and only thing to save it slightly was changing the input to 26 spline..

Re: making the 3650 strong

If you're going to beat the piss out of a transmission, you may as well just go auto and be done with it. If you must shift, get a manual valve body...the 3650 is not cost effective to build up and has not been the most reliable transmission for some. The T56 leaves something to be desired as well, but it really depends on what you are doing with the car.

Re: making the 3650 strong

If you don't want to go auto, expect to break things. It's something you'll have to deal with if you plan on going with that much power. Just realize its limitations and don't expect to bang the piss out of it at the drag strip.

Re: making the 3650 strong

i will got to the drag maybe once a year and i prob won't go much once i get a pretty good time. i understand that it would be alot better to have a auto for drag, but mine is more a street car and i love to shift threw the gears to much. i just wanted to see if i could make the 3650 strong enough to handle what i'm throwing at it and also thinking it would be alot cheaper doing that instead of doing a whole T56 magnum set up. even though i really would love to have the T56 Magnum i just wanted to save alittle money, but i will spend the extra to do it right so i'm not wasting money if the built 3650 won't last at all. i almost think even the cobra T56 would hold up better than the built 3650. i don't know for sure i'm thinking it would.

Re: making the 3650 strong

I was quoted $2100 for the 700hp 3650 from American Powertrain a few months ago.

And you'll be fine with that transmission you aren't even close to its current limitations right now anyways.

was that for the whole new trans or was that with sending yours into em. also i thought that i could just switch over the same clutch and flywheel i have right now if i did a built 3650. i need to look into the built 3650 on specs. i just figured but i guess i'm wrong.

i figure it would to be honest, i don't beat and beat on my mach its really baby most of the time and don't go to the track but once a year if that. right now with the power i'm at i'm not going any more
554rwhp
522rwtq

i'm happy with my power and thats where i wanted my power to be at. the only other thing is if i spray a 75 to 100 shot on it. which the motor can handle just fine, but to be honest and like i said before i prob won't ever spray, but it will be able to. the power is just insane and i'm very happy with it

Re: making the 3650 strong

ok so just got off the phone with American Powertrian and this is what the price i just got from em

for the Patriot 3650 Extreme which is 700hp/600tq
price for trans and not sending mine in but for them to build me one is
$1995 plus $250 for the core plus est $100 for shipping
est total =$2345.00

now also will need a new clutch and flywheel so figure in that cost for that. so when i look at this price vs the T56 magnum which if i member right was around $4500 plus clutch and flywheel.

so on a budget but to do it right it seems that the Patriot 3650 extreme is going to be the one for me, also the guy and i talked over my driving style and he even agreed that the built 3650 would hold up just fine for what i need. so i'm guessing and pretty much set on going with the built 3650 now. glad to find out everything, just wanted to get a ideal so if my trans takes a chite on me i know a est of what i'm going to be paying for my new trans, he also said take about 2 to 3 weeks before they get shipped out from when you order em. just to let ya'll know if someone is looking to get one of these.

More than likely I'll be having mine done at Liberty cause it's not to far from my house. I just hope that I won't have to worry about it for a while. Then again I will be bolting a set of slicks on it next year and running hard.
