Army Civilian Instructor Pilot killed in crash

Here is a link to the story. I also work at Fort Rucker and previously flew the same type helicopter that crashed on Tuesday. Please keep the family and friends in your prayers.

It's not common knowledge but most of the flight instructors at Fort Rucker (Army Flight School) are either civilian contractors or Dept of the Army Civilians. Almost all of us were military aviators and we understand the hazards involved with flight training. That understanding won't ease the pain of losing a brother aviator. RIP JC

Thanks Bill. You know those hats can hold a lot of beer. He must be smiling in Aviator heaven thinking, YES, heil YES they didn't use some stupid flight school picture. :ORANGE:

Those guys are all Cav and that close knit environment can cause things like this to hurt even worse. You know what, I'll take the hurt anytime to be a member of such an awesome group. I'm still waiting to see if the student was someone I flew??????

Are you flying into ECP any, I was in there last Friday and one of you guys came in. Strange thing, it was like the flight attendant was on the radio.

I'm going to bed. Of all things, I have shingles. This getting old ain't for pansies.

Re: Army Civilian Instructor Pilot killed in crash

Was just talking with a friend of mine about this last night. She went to school with him in Cali. Sorry for the loss, hate training accidents but ya they happen and we know the risks just sad..

I haven't been in there yet (luck of the draw). I've been known to let a hot stewardess read back a clearance - at the gate of course; but airborne, it had to be one of our many female FO's.

What! No 4 stripe females???

I've had some problems with the azzclown COL we work for so in Jan I have an interview at Patrick AFB. That would be a real change of pace. I usually just wait until they get reassigned but it's getting pretty crappy here. I'm too old for the airlines and I don't want to move out of AL or FL.
