Pypes X Pipe w/ high flow cats?

I was looking them up on eBay. The price seems right and kit looks good. Does anyone have this X-Pipe if so how did it hook up, was it an easy install or was it a pain and how is the quality? I would appreciate some feedback. Thanks guys.

Re: Pypes X Pipe w/ high flow cats?

Others may have had a different experience.

I have pypes/high flow cats. the difference is I cut my off road pipe and welded in cats.

  • The driver side is lower for some reason. Im not sure if the made them this way or not but it is noticeably lower than the pass. side.
  • One of the pipes on the escape side of the X was too long. it moved my stock tip about 1-2 inches outward. Not an issue if you can adjust.
  • Maybe i was tightening too much, but the 2 bolt flanges bent from tightening them down. I was trying to track down an exhaust leak so i wrenched those down first.. bent one and replaced it with an auto-zone replacement.

Like i said, i had an offroad X so i do not know if it is physically the same pipes or what.

Also, american muscle has it for the same price. I would buy it from them anyday before touching someone on ebay especially for the same price.
50resto has them as well but its 20$ more. And they are in Texas so you could get them pretty quick without extra shipping charges.

I had a pypes o/r x last year and had this exact problem. Along with a host of fitment issues and exhaust leaks that were not fixable without welding. some people have great experiences with pypes...I had a horrible one. I would not recommend it. Spend the money on magnaflow or something of better quality. My magnaflow fit like stock...that my recommendation to you.

Re: Pypes X Pipe w/ high flow cats?

About a month late but mine was good all except the pass. side collector flange where it bolts to the manifold would leak and if you compared the stock flange to the Pypes flange you would immediately understand why, and how they are different. Other than that little snaphew, I thought it was a solid piece. I won't get another one for the record, without that nonconfigured flange being revised.
