New Ride - Daily Driver

Since I garage the Mach from November-March, needed something else that was still fun but also good in the winter snow/rain...Here's the new ride.

2006 WRX STi. Basically stock. Previous owner was from Maryland. Had it tinted and debaged entire outside except for two small STi stickers on the two front doors. Interior was changed out from the normal (ugly) blue interior with silver/black to basically match the car color. It looks really good IMO. I need to get pics of that... Overall car is clean. No dents, dings, nothing. Handles amazing and was really impressed with the acceleration these things have. Bought it with 20k on the clock. Definitely working on getting rid of the plane wing on the back, but havent had luck in finding the spoiler i want to change it out with. Overall really happy with decision to buy this over something more ordinary (acura/audi/bmw). Looked at a few of them but I love performance cars and went with something more rare and along that line.
Anyways took some pics finally a few weeks ago with the Mach. Drove both back to back that day and still hands down love the Mach more than any other car.

Here it is...

nice for a DD at least it isn’t really slow just don’t put a ricer exhaust on it or any thing like that.

Those are nice cars! If you change the wing to a smaller stock one, change the whole lid and tortion springs. Sport Compact Car forgot that and nearly broke thier rear window!

When i first got it, i hadnt driven the Mach in over 2 months so naturally it felt fast. Its a different kind of feeling with the turbo. My Mach dyno'd 303rwhp/312rwtq. When i took these pics it was a nice day out so i took the Mach for a ride right after driving the STi. Both are fast, but the Mach def is a little faster. Traction wise, the STi with the 4 wheel drive hooks and handles alot better, but seat of the pants feel says the Mach is faster. But with the turbo, its a different kind of feel when accelerating and you def. dont get that punch down low like the Mach does due to the low end torque with the V8. Im def. happy though and think its the best of both worlds to have a car thats still "fast" to drive in the winter/rainy days...

def not looking to put a can on the exhaust. Looking to keep it mainly stock. If I do work on it ever, it would just be in the engine so it looks and sounds stock...

Re: New Ride - Daily Driver

Nice ride....I had two wrx's and two legacy gt's before my current 2.5 legacy daily driver. Subaru makes great cars. The STi wing is too ricey for me so my suggestion would be to put a STi Limited lip spoiler on it or find a regular wrx spoiler. You can't go wrong with either. My wife drove the wagon and I drove the sedan. The legacy gt motor is a slightly detuned STi engine. White car is current legacy.

Re: New Ride - Daily Driver

Good looking car! I own an 05' sti as my daily driver. Check out cobbtuning.com There access port is the best product you can buy in my opinion. Put a turbo back exhaust and an accesport and your car will feel completley different! I picked up 4 tenths in the quarter just doing those two mods.

Car looks good with the blacked out headlights! If you are looking for a good STi forum check out IWSTI.com

thanks. Im really happy with the STi. Subaru def. makes really well put together cars. That STi Limited Lip wing is what i think i was looking for. Ive seen pics of it but never have seen it for sale. Does it look similiar to the small lip on the Cobra's? If so then thats it. You know where they are sold?

The Legacy GT are really good looking too and I would def. look into one of them once im older and have a fam. Right now at 22 im just looking to have fun...

Ill have to check out those sites. Thanks. Right now im just gonna keep the car stock (atleast try to), and just focus on modding the Mach. Goal is to save up and put a KB on it.

Re: New Ride - Daily Driver

boxer 4s don't really sound ricey as long as you don't get equal lenght manifolds.... they have that rumble with unequal length manifolds... with equal lengths they get the rice sound and seem to lose power for some reason which is kinda strange... the STi trans can be built to handle ALOT of power and swapping in the c-spec(I think?) final drive helps out with the 1/4 as you don't need to shift into 5th as early. There's a few big turbo STi's in houston and they're VERY quick from a stop or roll.
