Re: killing off our fun

So anyone want to place a bet before the Insurance Companies want to out-law 10-speed Schwinns becuase they are too fast and can generate too much power?

Re: killing off our fun

they really should look at more than just hp in that study

i mean, seriously, cell phone usage has gone up alot higher than since 1995

parents are busier than ever, and if you conducted the study ACCURATELY, driving more miles than families in 1995 as well.

its not hp that makes things go up, its miles driven...your chances for accidents get higher the more you drive, period...whether its a 85 hp honda Fit or a 600 hp vette

Oh, but HP is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much eaiser to blame. Do you think that they wouldnt target cell phones if it was easy to tag people using them? They are choosing the EASIEST thing they can find and using that. They are sharks and are interested in profits, nothing more. They only do these studies to give them a reason to deny things that impact profit, safety is only a concern so they dont have to pay out for injuries. Ok, Im done with my rant.

ya...i wish you could do a "vehicle insurance" savings plan like you can for health insurance.

Ive made one claim in 5 years for $3000....if you took my average of $140 for car insurance over the 5 years, thats $8400....id have a built motor for the 67 with that extra $5400

Re: killing off our fun

If I owned an insurance agency/company and I had to insure two people who were the same age/gender/locale and one had an average sedan and was only interested in basic commuting and the other had a 400 hp muscle car and loved drag racing, I know which one I'd charge the higher premiums!

I gotta tell ya, at least here in Phoenix... it's the punk in the little Honda with a fart can that you have to worry about in traffic. Not the high hp Porshe or Cobra.

Re: killing off our fun

not too many people die in china from head on bike collisions... odds are if you have more power, you can and will be able to go faster.

It sucks, but seems like alot of things in life are in the midst of change.

Not the Hi-Hp Porsche, Cobra, Corvette, etc etc in the hands of a mature human being.

Unfortunately, some people never Mature, though most of the blame does go to Kids... hence higher rates for same. Still a bleed over to the Mature drivers.

Re: killing off our fun

I'd like to know what highways they monitored...they mentioned Washington DC, but everytime I travel on a highway near DC it seems I hit a parking lot. How can the average vehicle exceed the speed limit when they are stopped?

It’s not all about hp my sister has the least amount of hp (115) and drives faster than any one in the family including me.

I still think we need a US auto bond!

off peak times (non hov to us )

Those people pulled over on 66 weren't singin' too loudly in church.

Have you been to a fairfax traffic court? 3 rooms just for traffic

Re: killing off our fun

My father told me something strange recently. He pays the insurance while I'm in school, anyway, He told me that its almost the same cost to insure the focus as it is to insure the Mach. Apparently "Sport Compact" has become a preimum hiker just like "Sports Car" is......
