My First Mach Injury

We were out driving around this evening and had been for about an hour when we started to hear a ping/knocking/rolling sound from the rear, at first we checked the trunk to make sure nothing was rolling around hitting things, nothing. It only did it ocassionally for a few minutes but then a loud knocking started and I pulled over to look under the car. Checked the exhaust for loose brackets stuff like that when I noticed a HUGE phillips head screw driver or bit sticking in my side wall on the INSIDE of the rear drivers side tire. The part sticking out had the end of a phillips head screw driver or a bit end, it was about 4 inches long!! On the INSIDE of the tire! How in the hell?? We tried driving it to a safe place where no one would mess with it and I cringed the whole way, the knocking was horrible. We got it a few blocks to my gmas where we could also borrow a vehicle to get home. When we got there it had come out somewhere and my tire went flat with a minute or two. I'm going to find that piece of whatever tomorrow in the daylight. UGHHHHH!!!!

Re: My First Mach Injury

Sorry to hear that - tires aren't cheap.

On the bright side you can get a nice set of BFG KDW's now.

Cool Re: My First Mach Injury

Thats strange ,but stuff like that happens !!! We've pulled riveted skins off the sides of Helicopters & found wrenches chaffing into the airframe from day one !!! So much for final inspections ! Chris
