Re: Would You DATE a co-worker

20 years ago I dated a co-worker. Last month we had our 18th wedding anniversary. I think I may be one of the few lucky ones....I wouldn't recommend it.

Re: Would You DATE a co-worker

I have the honor of working at Victoria's Secret for the past 2 years, so I have plenty of experience with this. I've hooked up a with a few more than a handful, and seriosuly dated 2. The random hook ups were definitely easier to deal with, I'm actually really good friends with all but one of them. The ex doesn't work there anymore, but it wasn't bad when we broke up. All depends on how mature the people involved are.

Side note, my managers have a running joke there about how I always wanna take the cute new girls for a ride in the Mach... which I deny completely

I love my job.

Re: Would You DATE a co-worker

Wow, didn't expect this many replys - thanks. Yeah, I am glad for those that worked out. But like someone else said, she is just playing me now. What sucks the most is that we have hung out but have not had any physical contact but we still fight over stupid shot. The biggest kicker here is that she works like 20 feet away from me and we HAVE to interact during the day. Does anyone have a gun handy?

Move on, it's the best you can do. Otherwise you'll always be the third wheel and you'll continue to get jerked around. If she wanted to be with you I suspect you would've known by now.

I'm with this guy, nothing worse than having all the problems but none of the perks of a relationship. Especially if she has another guy she's attached to. Drop her like a bad habit. You'll be happy you did. I just went through the same thing less than a year ago. Within a week of me not really talking to her outside of work, she wanted me... and I declined. You don't want a girl that'll play around multiple guys at the same time.

Re: Would You DATE a co-worker

After giving it more thought, these are a few instances when I think it might be okay.

First if you’re a bouncer at a strip joint, next would be if you were a book keeper in a whore house, third … if your name is Hugh Heffner, fourth, a test driver for the Trojan Condom Factory and finally --- If you’re involved with a medical group studying the effects of Viagra, Cialis, or Levitra.

Although I don't condone it, probably any prison sentence lasting more than 20 years would probably be okay according to Tony Soprano.

Re: Would You DATE a co-worker

Well, I don't know how old you are, but if you worked in a law firm in the 90's then I'm assuming you're at least pushing 30. At your age you should already know the answer to your own question; the adages - no matter how cliched -are completely true.

First, the girl in question is either completely immature mentally and emotionally or simply playing you for a sucker in an attempt to make the other guy jealous or compensate for his lack of attention. In any case, does this sound like a good foundation for a positive future or is it more like a big red-flag warning sign? Exactly. Come on, man. High school was a long time ago. Who has time or patience for such antics now?

Secondly, while you're with her you can rest assured that every detail of your life will be shared with OTHER co-workers, up to and including your sex life. Every fight you ever engage in (and there will be many) will be fodder for her clandestine ***** fests in the break room, sullying your reputation among bosses, friends and potential future sex partners. Which leads me to...

Lastly, when it ends (yes, I said when), it will end badly. Then you get to work with someone every single day who will probably hate and deride you and the feeling will be mutual. Meanwhile, in addition to knowing way too many secrets about the both of you, your co-workers will probably despise the both of you for making their own work lives even more unbearable due to the friction you've caused. Trust me, unless this is a girl whose eternal friendship you cannot live without, don't make this move. There are about 3 gajillion pussies in the world and they're all similar enough to allow you some selectivity in choosing the personalities they're attached to.

Ignore her, and treat her like **** when you do talk to her. I bet she'll let you hit it. Then move on... lol

If you have a "job" -- sure why not? But if you have a career and you're likely to be where you're at for years I'd second your saying with one I've learned from experience: "Don't sh!t where you eat"

Re: Would You DATE a co-worker

You guys crack me up. But thanks for the advice but it is not so simple to ignore her or treat her like crap. Believe me, I would and actually I am probably going to get another job. But when I ignore her or treat her like she is nothing, I don't hear the end of it either. She is also a type that doesn't make much money and gets a guy who works at a restaurant to help her pay bills while she toys with his mind and lets him take her out with no intention of ever being with him. What a *****!!!

- a few drinks here and there but not much monetary stuff. More like fixing her computer at home and giving her free stuff like a dumb 2.0 usb card, etc. And remember, I didn't even get to first base LOL
