That's worth over $100K if it looks as good as the pics.

I wouldnt believe it if i didnt see for myself . This guy is out their sun up to sundown . Pushing 70+ and youd never know it . He sees my stang all the time and decided to stop bye . Needless to say he asked if i liked the old stangs . Silly question . My eyes teared up when i saw this baby . The couple has no family or children . He drove my son and i to football practice then a bite to eat afterwards . Constantly bringing produce and fruit on a daily basis .

Kids run his woods on a daily basis . Hes sitting 0n 137 acres of prime real estate . I honestly dont think this guy realizes how much hes worth .

I bet that car is in the 300s . I got to drive it home . I told him how much i enjoyed the car and his good neighborly manor . Mike said anytime i like to drive the car just stop by .

I can see me cruising that car again .

A guy at a car show a couple years back showed up in a '68 KR Convertible. He said he paid $135,000 for it. Then, he dropped some major coin and had the engine completely redone. I'd say Barrett-Jackson has blown prices for vehicles way out of proportion. I would'nt doubt he'd get $300K for it at that place.

Man that really deserves a garage.
But an old barn is the last place on Earth a car thief would look for something like that.

I know you would not do this, but you might be able to low ball him!!!
You know, old car in an old barn, I'm sure you could find a blemish or two and maybe paaaayyyyyy..................$30,000............no $20,000, maybe less.
Or muuuhhaaaa........... buy his property for $200,000 with the car thrown into the deal to make it worth your while.

I could be adopted still..................

Re: Elderly Farmer Holding Out (pics.)

Glad to see someone who owns an original Shelby who isn't afraid to drive it. It is a beautiful old car, and he obviously takes great care of it (other than storing it in the barn).

I hope you dont post the barn pictures as some jack'n ape might try to go out and find the location only to steal this fine steed.

Thanks for the photos and the story behind them.

You could be right about that . So i will describe it for all of you . Its original 1883 . Seriously ! Metal roof that has been replaced 5 years ago . Fresh paint every 5 years as he described . New concrete floor the same time the roof went on . It is weather proof .

You would have to be a thief to find this thing .
But im sure it could happen .

Ya might want to remove the tag photo for the same reason...

It's not hard to find out to who and where (address) a tag is registered...for instance, I can get that information for FL because a previous employer has yet to change the company passcode for the access we had to the DMV info when we were a Central Station (it's been YEARS). Being the fine upstanding citizen that I am, I don't use it for that...but I will admit to using it when I was trying to come up with my personal plate. I just weeded out the ones that I came up with that were already taken...funny when it was applied for they said "it's available" (really? Sweet! ) Probably not the hardest system to hack into if someone really wanted to track down that car...

Just sayin'...

Oh and that is a sweeeeeeeeeeet car...and *I* would think there was something like that in a bar. Ask FL Mach 1 - every time we drive past a barn in GA or TN i'm like "I wanna go see what's in that barn..." especially the ones that are falling down!

For a barn car, that's in awfully good shape! I think this guy knows exactly what he has and what it's worth. He might work in the fields sun up to sundown, but at some point he takes time out to make sure this baby looks and runs good!

that's one neighbor you need to stay on his good side

older folks seem to be more friendly, and out going, maybe cause they're lonely or just need some interaction from a younger generation to keep them feeling young
