Cams WITH nitro boost
Anyone running this setup? I am looking to hit the max on stock bottom end(450rwhp) and didnt know what my best bet would be? I really wanna have a quicker NA car, which is the reasoning for the cams, and the nitrous is perfect for gas milage/limited track time. Opinions?

Re: Cams WITH nitro boost
I have stage 3 cams and NX 150 on my mach with all the usual bolt-ons on the stock bottom end and it runs great. I would say that it is about maxed out though. Make sure you get a good tune.

Re: Cams WITH nitro boost
The cams NA are great at high rpm. If i had it to do over again i would go with no more than stage 2 if you are not going to do any porting to the heads or intake. I have read that stage 2's dont take away from the low end as bad. The 410's are a must for the cams. JMO
My car made 365hp and 343tq NA.

It hasnt been dynoed with the NX 150 yet but with the compucar kit with the 125hp jets it made 455hp 480tq.

Re: Cams WITH nitro boost
Seems like with the cams the mach loves the nitrous even more!

Re: Cams WITH nitro boost
Thats why I want Crower Stage 3's they make great power up top, and Nitrous makes gobs of torque, I just think those two together would be a monster on the street.

Re: Cams WITH nitro boost
I've heard some nightmare stories about Crowers for 4V's. I think John Mihovich even had an article in MMFF about how far off some of them are.

Re: Cams WITH nitro boost
Does Comp make Cams just like the Crowers with the same lift and duration etc. I mean i want a lot of power but man they just sound amazing at idle.

Re: Cams WITH nitro boost
I bought my cams for the sound more than power at the time it sounded like a good idea but now i would go more for power/driveability. just my .02

Re: Cams WITH nitro boost
Here's my car with comp cams:
http://videos.streetfire.net/video/d...15c13be092.htm I love the sound! As far as cam specs go, you're looking at the wrong spec as far as aggressiveness. the difference of a .450 lift and .500 lift is tiny. It's the duration that makes the biggest difference. My comp cams have a slightly smaller lift than the crowers, mine are .475 and I think crowers is .483, but the duration is 234/232 @ .050. |
