Urgent help needed!

I dropped the auto tranny pan to do a fluid & filter change and I found this in the pan. I have no idea where it goes or where it came from and my service manual doesn't show any part that looks like it on the exploded view or mention anything about it for filter installs. According to the manual the only thing that should be in the pan is the magnet. I'll deposit $5.00 to the paypal of whoever identifies this thing first.

Re: Urgent help needed!

That is normal! It's used during assembly to plug the trans and I believe this is where the dip stick tube would go. Scroll down in the first link till you see a diagrahm of the outside of trans under "Coolant Return Lines". You can see this plug installed.

Re: Urgent help needed!

Thanks for the peace of mind guys. I was thinking (hoping) that was exactly what it was but have never heard of it before. Phil, shoot me a pm with your email for $5 since you were the first.
