Diabolo Tune or no tune?

how do i know if my car already have a tune.i was trying to instal diablo predator and i couldn't.diablo said that when this happen its bc the car already have a tune,other people said that its bc the battery.i need help here

Did you save the stock tune to the predator first?

Low battery does effect the download.

If the Predator is NOT used ????? you probably have a tune in the car. If you want to use the Predator tune or custom tune (email) the car will have to have a f/s tune. You can have it flashed at the dealership and then the Predator will store this tune in the Predator and marry the car to the tuner.

If the Predator is USED it may not have been restored by the previous owner. This is a bigger problem and can likely only be resolved by having the previous owner restore his car to the factory tune.

Let us know your situation and we can help MORE.

If your car has a tune and is mod'd you may lose some needed adjustments until you use the Predator. Example gear, O/R midpipe, and tire size. If your car is highly mod'd you probably need a professional tuner with a dyno.

You can use a battery charger or tender. I have an Optima so I don't even worry about pulling power from fans and pumps.

Does it just die or do you get a message?

Ricardo, several things can prevent or disrupt downloads. 1. Low battery voltage (deep charge or replace your battery, if it has a bad cell). 2. electric fans have been known to cause a drop in voltage (unplug the fuse) 4. ensure your interior lights & radio are turned off. 3. cell phones can interfere (turn them off). 5. aftermarket gauges can create voltage drops as well (cut power to them).

+1 Geoffav. If your Mach's ECU had a performance tune installed and was never unmarried from the original handheld tuner the ECU would have to reflashed , with a stock factory tune, by the dealership.

Ford dealership can reflash it to F/S. Then I would recommend either a custom tune or visit a shop with a dyno.

When I used a Predator I got a custom tune from http://www.injectedracing.com/html/tuning.htm

I was very satisfied with what Dave provided as a tune and it was dead on with the WOT A/F. I didn't know how good it was until I had the car on a dyno and we really didn't make much more power than his custom tune.

I provided him the details on my car/mods and he nailed the tune. You will have to email him the factory tune for him to tweak. It's not hard at all.

If you have an O/R H without mil eliminators and have NO Check Engine Light, that's a good sign the rear o2's were turned off via tuner or chip. The dealer would be the best option.

when i bougth the mach the car was stock.that its why i wanna be 100%sure bc the car was stock

If that's the case how could it get tuned, most folks don't tune a f/s car.

Was the Predator new in the box? Any chance it's linked to another car?

There is a selection on the Predator menu that shows "Last Tune Written"
select that and it will either show "Performance Tune" or "Original Backup". If it indicates "Original Backup" the Predator is VIN unlocked.

Same results here, I sent him my factory tune with a dyno run sheet, and after couple more tweakings following two more dyno runs and Predator datalogs everything was just right.

i did that and the displays message indicate original backup"so that mean that the predator is fine or not

Yes, your Predator is VIN unlocked and is ready for use. What is your computer (ECU) code? It's indicated on a white sticker affixed to the passenger door and will be a combination of four upper case letters/numbers.

It could take awhile before you get the light and you could have MIL eliminators. Actually at this point I'm confussed on your situation.
