Traction Control ?
OK well I've been doin a lot of thinkin..a lot of drinkin and a lot of thinkin..
Obviously there is a button to turn off the traction control. And most people just turn off the traction control permenantly when they use a handheld tuner. BUT is there any way to set it up so the traction control button can be used to turn it on instead of turning it off? So basically you would always have the traction control turned off but say it rained or somethin and you want to turn it on you could just use the button. I think that's how it should have come from the factory...

Re: Traction Control ?
lemme go find the site with the module...........basically it remembers the state it was in the last time the car was running instead of defaulting it to on everytime you start the car. This way if you happen to be in the rain or whatever you can still turn it back on.
For me i turned it off in the tune as ive been driving mustangs since ive had my lisence and honestly when the t/c kicks on in the rain or whatever it kinda messes me up since im used to the way they handle and 99% of the time im already correcting it when the t/c kicks on and it seems to just upset the car more when that happens.

jeez that's a little pricey for such a small thing to do. Needless to say traction control will be deleted tomorrow when I get my tune.

Re: Traction Control ?
do you need to turn off the traction control before you turn the car off?
"Exclusive memory feature contained in module defaults traction control to last used setting at startup, and gives the user the ability to switch and default traction control "off" or "on" at any time, keeping the stock functionality of the switch. NO MORE FORGETTING TO TURN TRACTION CONTROL OFF!" for 55 bucks i can press a button lol |

Re: Traction Control ?
My tune leaves the traction control alone, something I told the tuner not to touch. I have no issues remembering to push the button to turn it off when I want it off.

Re: Traction Control ?
i leave it on. After a bad experience with it off im afraid to not leave it on. Even with it on i chirp the tires in wot and the car slightly goes to the side a little sometimes, and its an auto. With it off i was totally sideways once so i keep it on

Re: Traction Control ?
The only time I leave it on is if it's raining. Even so, if I get on it, it will start getting way sideways before correcting itself, I always have to lift off. I mean what the heck is the use. I need to find a wet parking lot and see if it really works. Anybody spun out in the wet with it on?

Re: Traction Control ?
I hit the button when I turn the car on. When I leave that thing in the 'on' position, holy crap does that screw with my head! I was leavin Lowe's. Turned on to the on ramp and stepped on it a bit. The car lurched and booooooooooooogged. I let off the gas and pulled over thinking the worst. Then I noticed the little light was off.
I guess I really should shut the thing off permanently. It wouldn't do me any good in any situation....except scare the crap out of me when it kicks in. |
