Re: Handgunners inside

We're going back out today.....there are spots we can shoot 1,000+ yards, maybe a mile if you have a spotter. Maybe we'll use the Garand too......

Yes, thats the reason why I like them. A piece of history that
is definatly worth keeping for collections.

And not very functional for a self defense piece.

Re: Handgunners inside

I think they make the Winchester 94's in .44 mag with out the big loop....better for defense as that silly loop won't get in the way. I'd like to get one of those commerative Winchesters with the octagonal barrels....got to get bigger safe first!

I think Winchester has quit or is going to quit making the model 94's. I just got a legacy tribute 9422 the other day to go along with my 9422 WMR.

The tributes are really nice.....I have a 9422 that I would guess I have 25,000 or so rounds through it....still shoots fine!

Re: Handgunners inside

My Dad has a Winchster 94 that he bought from Marshall Fields in Chicago, back in 1971 or 72. It is a 1 of 1000 something or other. It is pretty plain as far as commemeratives go. But it is beautiful at the same time. It has a simple engraved border around the receiver and a gold plated loading gate. The barrel is like 26 inches or so and octagonal. The figure in the walnut is unbelievable. I remember him telling the story about how he bought it and road the bus home with the gun on his lap. For half the ride home there was a policeman on the bus and he did not even give my dad a second glance.

Thats pretty cool.

In the old days, especially in places where cops new who's who.
And in places where hunting and fishing is everyones favortite
thing. I can see that happening.

Re: Handgunners inside

I bought this Winchester model 94 - 30 W.C.F. (30-30) back in 1983 and I know it's old. This is how it looked when I bought it in 83. I have fired a few rounds thru it but, not many. I'm trying to find some info on it, in case any of you know!

That's what I mean! The steel, wood is worn big time which had to take decades of use for the steel to be worn like this. I would like to find out when this lever action Winchester was manufactured.

Re: Handgunners inside

I found a website on Winchester 1894/94 models where you punch in the serial number. According to this site the model 94 I have was manufactured between 1943 - 1948.

I have one. I hunted deer with it this year. One word...AWESOME. It's like the hand of GOD himself touches the deer. Instant death. No tracking involved with the 500. Hand Cannon.

"This is my BOOM Stick" !!!

Winchester 12 gage pump Model 1300 defender. "00" buck shot
Im pretty good with the scatter gun... Anyone needs a backup man for those close zombie runs... let me know.

Winchester "Trapper" model 94 in colt .45 cal. It maybe small but it gets the job done for a old west lever action.

Hey I have a 1300 Defender as well! Recomended to me by a family member who is an LEO. Great gun for the money, and everybody wants to shoot it.

I'm still debating on the S&W .500 to add to my collection.. I don't have an X frame revolver. I still like the .460 muzzle velocity of 2300 ft. per sec. and I believe you can run .45 long colt thru it also..

im sure the ammo for that thing is outrageous. My next purshace i think will be a Berreta 92FS or Maybe the 96FS and then a suppressor
