MIL's with Catted Xpipe - 2003-04 Mach 1 Registry Owners Club

I just bought a catted slp xpipe and was wondering if i still need MIL eliminators for the check engine light...I allready have a pair but would rather not use them if i dont need them...

Yes you need um. and extensions if yor car is an 04. I have my rears turned off via my sct tuner so I do not have mills or a SES light.
Also besure you get the pipe up as tight as you can bcuz the cats hang lower than the stockers due to the shape of um. I have been running my SLP X for about 2yrs now and I have been satisfied with it.

From What I Was Told, As Long As You Have A Catted H Or X-pipe You Do Not Need The Mil Eliminators. The Mil Eliminators Sends The Proper Voltage Signal To Fool The Computer That The Cats Are Still There And Working Properly. If You Buy A Catted Pipe You Shouldn't Need The Eliminators. But Like 2k4mk1 Said, If You Have An 04 Mach You Will Only Need The 02 Sensor Extensions Because They Relocated The Sensors On The O4 Models....but Eventually It Would Be A Good Idea To But A Tuner Like A Diablo Or Sct Especially If You Are Going With An 0ff Road Pipe So You Can Turn The Rear Sensors Off. The Mils Only Work So Long.

yeah im gonna try it without the MIL's and see if it works, then if not i have a pair sitting around from my old O/R pipe i had... thanks for the info - btw you capitalized every first letter in every word :-\ ... kinda hard to read :-P

You shouldn't need mils unless one of your cats come bad from the factory.

I had to put the mils on my mach. I drove the car with the catback and x-pipe(cats) and about 2 months into it my check engine turned on. So i called slp and they told me i would need the mils. After that and some LT headers, everything has been heaven.

First off I called slp and they told me to use the mil eliminators with the catted x. Second I have a convertible and have the slp full length headers and matching x pipe and they do not sit low at all in fact they sit higher than the factory convertible brace. next time im under there ill snap some pictures.

I put a catted x on the mach last week and yesterday when I was driving out to get my 4:10's installed I got an MIL...So, I think it is probably pretty safe to say that the mil-eliminators are necessary...

Think of it this way.

The stock pre-heaters are there to super heat the exhaust gasses before they get to the cats. That helps with the conversion process. When you eliminate the pre-heaters you will likely not have as complete a conversion process within the cats. Therefore you will potentially get a higher concentration of one of the gasses that although it may pass a sniffer, it will not escape the EECV and its tempermental self...

I will be either buying mil-eliminators or having the rears turned off when I get my tune sometime next month.
