tire decision
my tread is going out on my tires, and im trying to choose something under 200 per tire, preferrably 150ish, what would be a decent choice? I already looked on tirerack.com and I liked the pirelli pzero nero's but if anyone has any other suggestions please do reply

Re: tire decision
Stock size? The goodyear GS-D3 (or something like that) is very popular.

Re: tire decision
What size? I just bought Nitto 555's for the front last week. Stock size for $135 a piece.
Pirrelli (sp) to soft IMO. Yokohamas are good but a bit pricey. The others not sure about them |

Re: tire decision
I love my Nitto's. For the price I think it's the best tire going.

Re: tire decision
I'm getting Sumitomo HTRZ 315-35/17 put on the rear this week. From what I hear, they are pretty **** good. Cost me 125 per.

Re: tire decision
Hey RightTime,
What else have you done to your car to get dyno numbers of 310HP 369TRQ, is that SAE corrected? Those numbers seem a little high for an auto. I wish my 04 auto mach had numbers like that.

Re: tire decision
ive got 24k on my Kumo 711s so far and still have about 2/32 tread. For 83.00 each on tire rack you cant beat them. They stick very well on the road but they do not have any snow traction! I pot 255/45/17 on all four.

I have BFG KDW-II's and I love them, and I recently tested them on the snow... not a problem

Re: tire decision
I'm another big fan of the Goodyear GS-D3s. I've had 3 sets of these tires and I don't think there is a better overall perfromance tire out there. A 245x45x17 from tirerack is almost $200.
I have 245x45x17 Nitto 555s for my open track tire. They are pretty good on the track. They are really good on a dry road; not so good on a wet road. I think they were around $120 from Americas Tire. I just put Kuhmo Ecsta MX tires on my SVO. I don't have a lot of miles on them. But, so far I really like them. I haven't got them on the open track, yet. But, they are great on dry and wet roads. And they have a really good ride. The 245x45x17 from tirerack is $139.

Re: tire decision
I had the GS-D3's on my 02 Gt. They were an excellent tire both on dry and wet rode. I was very satisfied.
The only drawback I found in them was that they were very good at kicking uyp debris on the road as well. But that would not keep me from buying them again. |
