Polished GT Coil Covers!

FINNNNNNALLY finished them today. I've had my shaker polished with the black insets since October of 03 and when I saw the GT coilpacks I knew what I had to do. Then someone else did it, but left the insets grey on the covers... So after countless hours sanding, polishing & painting... Here are mine!

Re: Polished GT Coil Covers!

I knew I wouldn't like a polished shaker. I was wrong; it looks great!

My fault, guess I don't whore around here enough...

BTW, very nice looking Mach. I think I like the look of white wheels on a white Mach better than black ones.

hey boss, i noticed you have the maximum motorsports cc plates. can you tell me how many spacers did you use underneath the strut tower? i forgot to measure the original height when i removed the struts. i started from 2 large 16mm (1/2") spacers and bump stopper. Messed up on that one, removed the bump stopper after that since Im using Bilstein struts. I called MM and they told me to use either just one large(1/2")16mm spacer, one guy said 1 large (1/2") and 1 (1/4") small 16mm spacers. i tried them both and seems like the 1 large and 1 small has a better ride. With just one spacers though I like the steering feel, it's just firm, but when i hit bumps, seems hard! But not sure it that was the correct amount of spacers. I used the Bilstein that's why. Yours seems like the Illuminas. Appreciate the help

I have Koni's, not Tokicos, and when I was getting my coilovers on, I wasn't there when my tech's started work on the C/C plates, so I'm honestly not sure how many spacers they used. By the time I got out of the office, they were already mounting the coilover kit to the strut.

Re: Polished GT Coil Covers!

I like the coil covers a lot.
I never cared for the black valve covers on the 03 Machs (although maybe better than bare aluminum), but the way you did it it looks real nice.
Classy.

Re: Polished GT Coil Covers!

Reviving old thread...

What kind of paint did you guys use on the coil covers? Any special prep for the aluminum?

Thanks Adrian
