Where can I get a Mach 1 hood?
I have a 2002 Mustang GT and I am seriously considering getting the KarKraft ram air shaker system, which just adapts the Mack 1 system to a GT and requires a Mach 1 hood.
No, I'm not trying to copy a Mach 1, but if I'm going to have a scoop on my hood, it's going to be functional, dangit! Not to mention that it looks great. So where can I find a Mach 1 hood? Thank you in advance!

Re: Where can I get a Mach 1 hood?
CDC (Classic Design Concepts) has a funtional shaker setup for your car. They had allowed Ford to use their design for the Mach 1. This kit comes with a hood Appliqué in order to modify your oem hood.
http://www.classicdesignconcepts.com...splay/561.html I think it would be hard to find anyone on this site that would approve of a GT having the Mach hood.

Re: Where can I get a Mach 1 hood?
Personally (+given the numbers of Mach1 owners who mod their cars) I think you should go for it - you could get a Mach1 lookalike for less than $2500 - maybe no increase in value whatsoever to your GT, but we all love the look

Haha! I'm not trying to Mach-erize my Mustang. I just hate the idea of a non-functional scoop on my hood. I could remove it but there are ton of holes under it. Yeah, I've seen the CDC system. I'm hearing bad things about it... the applique flying off and whatnot. It's $800 and requires me to cut my hood. Don't like that idea. But it still might be my best/least-expensive option. Those Mach 1 hoods are expensive! $450 is the cheapest I can find. Add paint and the Kar Kraft system and I'm over $1200.

Re: Where can I get a Mach 1 hood?
I bought the CDC kit used, when I received it I packed it back up and sold it on E-bay just didn't like the look of it. Bought the KarKraft kit and am totally happy with the look and finished product. The hood ran me 400 through the Ford dealer. It is more expensive to go this route but looks much better than the CDC kit and uses all Ford OEM parts except for the brackets.

My 2000 GT didn't have a hood scoop. So when I get into the 2002, my eyes are pulled to the scoop. It's too big and doesn't work. Smells like rice to me. *runs and hides* hehe

Re: Where can I get a Mach 1 hood?
I have a GT with a Mach hood and shaker. I bought the hood from a friend and the shaker from Karkraft. You will probably spend more than $1200 if you do it right. I installed a C&L cold air box and filter. Plus I had to buy the underside hood insulation and the ring for the center. I also had to buy the drain hoses for the shaker. I bought the hood decal and the side decals that DO NOT say Mach 1. I decided not to to put them on. I to wanted a Mach but It was no way I could get one with a reckless driving ticket.

That looks friggin sweet!
Still a lot of money, though. That's almost as much as my new wheels and tires! I need to fins someone that has the CDC kit and ask how they like it and any problems they've had.

Re: Where can I get a Mach 1 hood?
I would go to the local dealer and get a new one.
Use the KarKraft system, as it uses mostly factory parts. I have a 2000 GT I just installed the FRPP Cobra motor ( C460) and trans into, a Mach 1 hood with the factory shaker assembly and all brackets. Bolts right in. I love the new motor, and the shaker is too cool. Gets a lot of looks. I will put onthe factory stripes, except I will NOT put on the MAch 1 decals, mainly cuz it in't a Mach. Besides, I have an Azure Blue 2004 for that........

Where are you located? I have a hood and complete shaker setup for sale. Mint condition. I'm in southern CA.

Re: Where can I get a Mach 1 hood?
Never bored.
The computer business has been good lately, so I went to my old Mustang standby hobby. So many crate motors, so little time.............. Back on track with this thread, you may try www.stangparts.com and see if they have a mach 1 hood. But by the time you ship it, is likely cheaper to get one from your local dealer. I cannot stress this enough. Use factory parts.

Re: Where can I get a Mach 1 hood?
I have a brand new mach hood with paint (black) and decals(black) on it already it has never even been outside of my garage. I'd interested in selling it.
