Black car hood stripe? - 2003-04 Mach 1 Registry Owners Club

The good news is that my car has finally come in! Tommorrow I go to the dealer to check it out and will be able bring it home tuesday or wednesday. It is black w/IUP 5 speed. My salesman said it has the side stripes but it does not have the hood stripe. Can I take the car and have the stripe installed by the dealer later? When I look it over what other things should I look at? I know so far to check stripes, calipers, parts of the IUP, rocker moldings, and the side windows.

First, congrats on the Mach!!

What is up with the black Mach 1s and the stripes? Have heard some with, some without....and like yours, incompete stripes. Sure would be nice to know what Ford thinks of this.

All that not withstanding, enjoy the ride.....it's a great one. :THUMBSUP:

Actually I like the Black Mach1 without the stripes!

Your black Mach should have all the stripes like any other Mach. If it doesn't it's a mistake. Your dealer's body shop can order and install at no charge to you.

I'd still do some photo documentation that the car arrived w/o the hood stripe for future reference. If you see it w/o the hood stripe and like it, you should be able to get the dealer to get this for you and keep it in storage. It seems to be unique to the black cars and it'll be interesting to see if we can get a tally on how many actually showed up with out them . Still no explanation from Ford...hello, Scott????? :THUMBSUP:

I went to the dealer today to look at it. It is mean looking. It does have the hood stripe. My salesman was wrong about the stripe, it is there, just hard to see without the car being clean. It sucks that we are about to get the worst storm of the year and it sucks that the banks and credit unions are closed tommorrow. You guys were right about trade-ins not being worth it. They offered 6k for it, I should be able to sell the truck for 11K privately. My credit union approved me for a loan with keeping the loan I have on my truck so I can sell it privately. I'm tempted to keep the truck (the only thing that sucks about it is it is a chevy) but my combined payments will be 1K a month plus insurance for both.

Congrats on the Mach. You will enjoy the color, understated but it gets a lot of turn-back looks.

I just put the first coat of wax on mine. Cripes did that bring out the shine on my black Mach! Makes the stripes show up that much more.

especially with no stripes everyone

asks me what it is with out stripes it only

has the mach 1 emblem on the deck lid

enjoy your cars the more you wax black

by hand of course the better it gets

With Black Zaino is a must. I it put directly on the hood stripe and it looks great.

Stripes here... and I must say I love the Mach 1 in Black.. it is very stealth looking, I got to see all of the colors in person before I switched from DSG to Black, and I'm very happy with the change. I'll be getting some pics up as soon as I get it back from the Dealer

What is Zaino? Have not heard of it before. I'm doing the prep myself and no front plate even though it is the law in new york. What is best for the seats (clean and protect)?
